Description: George's at the Cove is a renowned three-level dining destination located in the heart of La Jolla overlooking the Pacific Ocean and northern coastline. We offer three distinct restaurant and bar concepts – one fine dining and two casual – with stunning ocean views and award-winning cuisine. Known for its splendid rooftop setting, the popular George’s Ocean Terrace – complete with a newly expanded and elevated bar – offers casual al fresco fare for lunch and dinner that is perfectly complemented by sweeping ocean views. Recently reinvented from floor to ceiling, the all-new George’s Level2 – located on the second level – is elevating the craft of cocktails with housemade ingredients and handcut ice. Featuring all the classics and innovative modern creations, like the signature Sea3, Level2 offers a variety of cocktails well-suited to any taste. On the lower level, George's California Modern is a contemporary fine dining restaurant and bar featuring seasonally-driven California cuisine. Guests are invited to explore “San Diego on a plate” through a la carte or tasting menus inspired by the lifestyle, ingredients and sense of place that is San Diego. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to enjoy the San Diego lifestyle to its fullest, George’s at the Cove is an essential part of any visit to the region.

I used to live in La Jolla before it became developed with commercial buildings and high rises. But I always return for special occasions to the Ocean Terrace. The food is always excellent and the menu mercifully short. Service is impeccable. It is usually difficult to get seating at the rail (no guarantees even with a reservation) but the atmosphere is friendly and fun. If you have to wait, by all means sit at the bar and soak in the atmosphere. I highly recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding if your arteries are up to it.

I travel all over the US and my wife and I seek out the best places to eat..Alain Ducasse...Charlie Trotters...etc...So this place needed to be memorable. It was. We went with a full tasting with wine pairings and let it rip. I am a former winery owner and so the wine steward would be tested! He delivered. The wine pairings added to each course and each course complimented the wines. What a thrill to watch my 30 yr old son and wife experience this level of food. The view is awesome..the service was better..and the food...the food was on par with any restaurant ive ever eaten at. My daughter in law (who refuses to it lamb) was blown away with the preparation..and she couldn't believe she ate rib eye tartar...and loved it..All in all..its a pleasure to sit, sip and dine at Georges..while watching the sunset over the cove. Kudos

The view is killer. Just get there an hour before sunset and get a pager, because you'll have to wait at least a bit. Then head into the bar. It's a fantastic location for a beach view meal. The food was incredible. Most of the time when you have this great of a location and view, the food is average. Not this place. Great food. Great drinks. Go to Georges. You won't regret it. Just be a little patient, because the place is popular.

We dined at the open-air Ocean Terrace, and the service was super friendly (and exceptionally sweet with our 7-year-old daughter--though I wouldn't bring noisy, rambunctious kids here, as it's mostly adults, somewhat tight quarters, and has a sophisticated vibe despite being casual), and the view magnificent. And the FOOD! Amazing, every bit of it (we went with all appetizers: perfect ceviche, light and fresh fried calamari, outstanding fish tacos, and to-die-for hamachi--I'm still thinking about that particular dish a week later). The cocktails were fantastic, too. Dessert was creme brûlée with blueberries and salted popcorn--sounds bizarre...tasted amazing! Unforgettable night...anxious to return one day!
