“No animal lovers”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

Great view, OK food although very small size for the price, but If you love animals this IS NOT the place for you. The owner of George's was one of the main persons (together with the owner of hotel Valencia) responsible for re-establishment of human access to the Cove's cliffs with the only purpose of getting rid of sea lions and cormorants. Without sea lions there is not La Jolla.

“Food was very good but a bit disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing but the pasta with clams was just ok. The service was less than great.....the calamari appetizer arrived after our salads even though we ordered it with our drinks. The server was detached and seemingly uninterested in being sure we had what we needed. It was winter and dark when we had dinner so I am sure on a warm summer evening the outdoor environment might have made up for the uninteresting food and service.

“Great view of the Pacific and good food.”

This is a perfect place to feel like your on the California coast with all the luxury of LaJolla. If your trying to take in the LaJolla scene I would recommend this place. Food is good, people are professional, and just a great LaJola Scene.

“Birthday Dinner for 2”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

My wife and I celebrated her 30th birthday in the main restaurant. The food was good but the service made the dining experience great. Maria, our server was excellent and she was well versed in the menu and had extensive wine knowledge. She also gave great recommendations based on our tastes not just the menu prices.

We chose the 4 course menu which was reasonably priced ($72 per person) given the quality of the food. We did pay extra to add the ribeye and had the roasted lamb as our other entree. We like to share everything so we get to try more menu items which can be annoying for the server but Maria made it seem like it was no problem.

I would recommend going here during the summer time as sunset was before 5pm so there wasn't much of a view but I bet its pretty amazing during the summer.

“Great food, great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

Had lunch on the terrace with family. This place has great views, food is also very good. Except a piece of rock in my dish chipped a portion of my molar. Will be seeing a dentist soon to figure what it would cost to fix that. Did report this incident to the manager on duty. Have not heard back from her yet. Having said that, server did a great job, drinks were great. Not much else to complain about. Will visit again in spite of having lost a portion of my molar while enjoying their Farro salad.
