Description: George's at the Cove is a renowned three-level dining destination located in the heart of La Jolla overlooking the Pacific Ocean and northern coastline. We offer three distinct restaurant and bar concepts – one fine dining and two casual – with stunning ocean views and award-winning cuisine. Known for its splendid rooftop setting, the popular George’s Ocean Terrace – complete with a newly expanded and elevated bar – offers casual al fresco fare for lunch and dinner that is perfectly complemented by sweeping ocean views. Recently reinvented from floor to ceiling, the all-new George’s Level2 – located on the second level – is elevating the craft of cocktails with housemade ingredients and handcut ice. Featuring all the classics and innovative modern creations, like the signature Sea3, Level2 offers a variety of cocktails well-suited to any taste. On the lower level, George's California Modern is a contemporary fine dining restaurant and bar featuring seasonally-driven California cuisine. Guests are invited to explore “San Diego on a plate” through a la carte or tasting menus inspired by the lifestyle, ingredients and sense of place that is San Diego. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to enjoy the San Diego lifestyle to its fullest, George’s at the Cove is an essential part of any visit to the region.

“Great View for Lunch”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

We only had less than an hour. The restaurant was packed as it was lunch time! We however sat at the bar and ate there. GREAT SERVICE and food. Will come back when we have more time to enjoy the view.

“Amazing view - great service”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Go to the BAR. It is cheaper. Go after the lunch rush. Enjoy the spectacular view of the ocean and La Jolla cove. Food is delicious, service is great. Nice way to go to George's in a more casual way. You won't be disappointed.

“Excellent views”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

The views from the Terrace are unparalleled. We make a point to visit George’s Terrace each time we visit San Diego. We have been lucky enough to enjoy spectacular sunsets each evening we have dined on the Terrace. The food is delicious, this visit we had the halibut with fresh corn and snow pea nightly special, which was superb. Our waiter, Martin was awesome, great recommendations. Make reservations and enjoy!

“As Good As It Gets”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We ate at George’s California Modern, the gourmet restaurant on the lower level. The space is drop-dead gorgeous, the west-facing window wall providing a panoramic view of the Pacific and, at least the night we were there, a spectacular La Jolla sunset.

We each had the $72 prix fixe menu, consisting of four courses with numerous choices for each course. (There’s also a more expensive tasting menu with more courses but no choices.) The food was complex – multiple ingredients, multiple flavors, highly decorated. Often we don’t like this kind of food, finding it too pretentious. But at George’s, everything worked – complex food ended up being simply delicious. Desserts (the doughnut dip for one of us, sorbets for the other) were particularly memorable.

Service was impeccable. Yes, it’s expensive, but at least to our minds, it was worth it.

“First-class food, service and views of the ocean”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

This was our first visit - it was flawless from beginning to end. We had dinner in the more formal section section downstairs. Even though they were fully booked, we (2 of us) were seated at a table for four: we EACH had our own roomy couch, covered in purple felt. It was extravagant! The views of the Pacific Ocean are spectacular: during our meal (7pm) the water and the sky went from blue to teal to pink to sunset - it was breathtaking. The food, service and decor all match the great view. I ordered two glasses of wine from their list - I got the feeling that I could have ordered absolutely anything and it would have been delicious and first-rate. That same feeling goes for the food. Every course was excellent. Just-caught prawns in a fennel butter were one of the great appetizers of my life. The menu is not crazy adventurous, but, after eating in some crazy adventurous places in LA, I was in the mood for great food, not unusual food. Service was seemless, attentive, professional and pleasant. The place hums along like a Swiss watch, even when they are packed. We were celebrating our 10-year anniversary and they brought us two champagne cocktails at the end of the meal - on the house. A really nice gesture. This is one of those places that gets everything right.
