Known for its splendid rooftop setting, the popular George’s Ocean Terrace – complete with a newly expanded and elevated bar – offers casual al fresco fare for lunch and dinner that is perfectly complemented by sweeping ocean views. Recently reinvented from floor to ceiling, the all-new George’s Level2 – located on the second level – is elevating the craft of cocktails with housemade ingredients and handcut ice. Featuring all the classics and innovative modern creations, like the signature Sea3, Level2 offers a variety of cocktails well-suited to any taste. On the lower level, George's California Modern is a contemporary fine dining restaurant and bar featuring seasonally-driven California cuisine. “Overrated restaurant. Not our taste at all”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

We didn't like the food which was served. We were three persons and we were very disapointed. The swordfish ordered medium arre arrived overcooked with butter, the pumpkin ravioli had a taste of baby food and the octopus served as a starter was a mixture of everything, salted, sweet + other not pleasant taste. This restaurant was recommended to us by several persons!!

Instant relaxation on this terrace overlooking the cove. Food and drinks very good. Service friendly, but you are there for the panoramic blend of sea and sky. Go enjoy!

“Good for lunch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

We had reservations but still had a 1/2 hour wait. The staff was friendly and courteous but the food was not as upscale as some of the competitors in the area. While we had dinner there I think it was more of a lunch place.

“Superb meal, great service, wonderful location (expensive but worth it)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

Had a business meeting with an important client and chose this place based on local (excellent) recommendations. We ate in the "Californian Modern" part of the restaurant. Great décor and super attentive (but not intrusive) service. Asked for recommendations and the waitress (tall lady in black framed glasses) was extremely informative making some great suggestions with lots of detail. She really impressed me with her excellent service throughout the evening and willingness to get feedback on the dishes we had selected (based on her recommendations).

Pictures of all the dishes we had attached. For the first course we had the Grilled Local Octopus, vegetables escabeche, saffron crisp, aioli ($16) and Fish tacos ($16) - Octopus was excellent, fish tacos nicely prepared but a little bland. Given they were sushi-inspired I think a hint of wasabi to give a bit of zing would be good.

For entrées we had Local Swordfish, summer beans, fava pistou, celery sauce vierge, smoked lemon ($34) and Albacore (tuna) a la Plancha, smoked tomatillo, roasted fennel, chimichurri, chanterelle mushrooms ($30) - both excellent and highly recommended.

I'd love to visit this restaurant again - hopefully with my wife next time who would adore it. I can imagine it would be wonderful for a relaxed romantic evening.

“Get the soup!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

I had made a reservation 2 weeks prior to arriving. The female and male at the reservation desk seemed to act like they were doing us a favor upon arrival, they were having their own conversation and didn't even want to make eye contact with us. Thankfully our server was down to earth and on the ball. George's soup was amazing, roasted chicken, broccoli and bean soup with a creamy, touch of spicy consistency. I ordered a steak that was a special that night, very tough and not that tasty. I should have sent it back but I picked at it. My companion had a halibut special that was very moist and tasty. As everyone states the view is very nice, the sunset was blocked by other buildings so we never got to see it on the top floor. I would give it another shot, I just wouldn't order a steak next time.
