We ate here tonight with our 14 month-old son. The outside seating was perfect for this, as the seating is smack dab in the middle of a long "arcade" of closed stores ... so plenty of space for him to cruise (as he did) without us having to keep too short of a leash on him (translation, we could enjoy dinner!).

The food was excellent! We had spaghetti (with meatballs) and ravioli di mare ... both excellent dishes. Not small portioned, nor huge ones either (unlike how some Italian restaurants seem to be ... high on quantity and low on quality). It was just right ... not enough for leftovers, but we left with full stomaches. Very satisfied and will visit again.

This restaurant is hidden away in a passageway that is entered from Prospect St., the main drag in La Jolla. Most of the seating is outside but there is some indoor seating in two small nicely decorated rooms. I had the seafood pizza which included scallops, shrimp, calamari, and mussels. The seafood mixture was quite good after I added some salt. The pizza crust was tasteless, however. Thank goodness for the nice topping!!!

Enjoyed their little courtyard of tables in an arcade off the main drag in La Jolla. The bread dipping sauce as reviewed here was uniquely delish! We had a spinach, proscuitto and melon salad - a nice twist on an old time favorite and the house-made seafood ravioli were well prepared. I would only ask that they roll the dough out much thiner, so that they would become pillows of seafood yumminess. Thicker dough took away some of the lightness that dish can have. The sauce however was outstanding, and not cloying rich yet very good flavour.

They also seem to have live entertainment on some nights, which we were sorry we missed! And there were lots of families, surprisingly enough with young well behaved children which was not expected for this type of restaurant.

I had seen this courtyard area before and thought it looked nice, but we went to the restaurant because of an online coupon that I had found. The restaurant has a beautiful, quaint courtyard - I wish that I had thought ahead and worn warmer clothes so that sitting outside would have been a possibility. There were heaters, so it would have probably been comfortable. We sat inside and it was still very nice and quaint. The only problem was a very nice, large party next to us. They were a little loud which made it hard for us to hear in the small rooms, but still well worth it.
The food was wonderful and the service was great! The waiter was very nice and helped us with our wine and food selection.
I can't really comment on the price since we ate from the menu associated with the coupon.
We would definitely go again!

After an evening of strolling along Prospect Street last summer, checking-out shops and restaurants, my son and I discovered the 'La Dolce Vita' ristorante in a secluded courtyard just off the beaten track. Though it was the busy high season, the welcoming staff quickly found us a table. We loved the cheerful and boisterous atmosphere; plus there was live music, and, that evening, singers as well. If you are looking for an elegant dining experience, with expensive gourmet food, then this is not the place. However, we found the menu of home-style Italian recipes to be comprehensive, and very reasonably priced. Check out the menus on-line. Service was prompt, and with a smile. and the dishes were tasty. Most Italian wines are very drinkable, but the desserts are worth skipping. Dinner didn't break the bank, and we left with smiles on our faces.
