After a long day of walking around San Diego and La Jolla a friend and I were ready to relax and have a meal. We spotted the outside covered dining area with it's great view on our way up the hill and decided to stop on our way back. Wow were we glad we stopped. We started with a glass of French Sauvignon Blanc (Arrogant Frog) and the Chef's choice Bruschetta. The bruschetta was the typical tomatoes and basil but with a delicious added twist of small pieces of filet on top. Fabulous! We then shared an Antipasti of Tortino di Melanzane--eggplant with three cheeses and marinara which was delicious. We also shared Tagliolini ai Funghi--fresh Tagliolini served with a truffle based sauce with mushrooms. The golden yellow pasta was cooked perfectly and the mushroom sauce was a mushroom lovers delight. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert.
The service was very friendly, helpful in making our choices and attentive throughout our meal. One of the co-owners was around in the dining room and stopped by for a chat to be sure everything was to our satisfaction which it was.
I'm not from the west coast so won't be able to go back any time soon but my friend says she will definitely be going again!
