Was here for a work conference, never had been before. The rooms and spa have recently been renovated. The rooms are well appointed with much space and plenty of room to work and relax.

The spa was very nice, friendly staff and very clean. The remodel is not 100% complete so there were a few things that would be unacceptable if permanent such as window treatments allow too much sunlight in the service rooms. Also the shower fixtures were not very functional unless perhaps you are 5'1.

In-room dining menu had a variety of items, service was fast and efficient. Quality of food was good.

The grounds are well kept with outdoor seating and wood burning fireplaces. The grounds are not well lit so a bit dark if walking back to your room in the evening. The hotel is a bit of a maze and is a little difficult to find you room depending on what floor and which building you are in.

Overall a good experience and I would stay again as well as recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall. I will be sure to pass on your compliments to our In-Room Dining team. The property is certainly a bit of a maze, so here is a tip if you have a chance to stay with us again and you have a smartphone: you can now find a property map on our mobile website in case you left your print version back in the room. This is just one of the exciting features on the new website we launched in December. Thanks again and we hope to welcome you back soon!

I was here for a work related meeting, bringing in others from all around the country. I couldn't have asked for a better two nights, except if I had two more. For our size group, the Learning Center was perfect. Refreshments right outside, attentive staff, and a very calm location for an executive meeting. This is one of those locations where you don't need to leave the property, and you don't want to. The food was excellent, and even eating in the restaurants wasn't ridiculously overpriced, which is normal for hotels of this caliber. I am originally from San Diego, so it was nice to spend a few days here. Don't know if I will get the chance to stay here again, but I would welcome the chance. Don't forget your welcome margarita and sparkling wine at check-in. Beware, self and valet parking charges are high...not surprising.

Room Tip: The buildings are quite spread out, with lots of different courtyards. Be aware your room may be ve...

Just stayed at Estancia for a wedding and it was fantastic. Newly renovated, beautiful grounds, great service, very clean rooms, friendly staff. If you are visiting La Jolla you should definitely check it out. Also you are looking for a place to have your wedding reception the grand ball room is a perfect place. Plenty of room to accommodate a large number of guests.

I went to a wedding there and everything was perfect. The grounds are beautiful. The torches and fires beautiful at night. It's a great location. The food was very good. Beware of the parking charges and resort fee.

My husband and I decided that we wanted to take a short honeymoon that was closer in location to us than our favorite place, Napa. So we decided on La Jolla and found a deal on a travel website for the Estancia Hotel and Spa. They were currently under renovation, so I think they used the deal to draw in more customers.

Upon arrival the valet and bell men were very friendly and chatted with us while they unloaded the car. After checking in, they escorted us to our room. It's kinda cool the way they have it set up. First floor enters their room from a garden and the second floor enters from a hallway. Why they put us in a handicap room right next to the hallway door on floor 2, I will never know. Needless to say we asked to switch rooms which they immediately obliged. Our second room was first level garden entrance. And it was a much better fit for a newlywed couple. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and you can walk around and relax in a chair to read and enjoy the Southern California weather.

The restaurants have delicious food and drinks (it is a bit pricey), the staff is superb, and the ambiance sets the mood for a chill and relaxing day into evening. The day spa was under construction and we did not bring out bathing suit because we heard the pool and jacuzzi were not in operation, but we didn't care, downtown La Jolla was a short drive away.

The nightlife was awesome! We bar hopped until 2 am and met a lot of new people. From old historic bars to trendy new patios overlooking the ocean, we had a great time reminiscing about the wedding and enjoying a new concoction the bar tender suggested. Everyone in La Jolla was really nice, helpful, and fun. Parking isn't as fun, but we are easy to please and don't mind valet.

The next day, we shopped and walked around downtown La Jolla to enjoy its beauty during the day. The beach side walk was relaxing with plenty of benches, sand and grass to sit and take in the scenery. You can watch surfers and skim boarders ride and toss themselves into the waves, hear the sea lions bark at each other to move over so all can enjoy the sunbathing on the rocks, and just breathe in sea air and hear wave crashing. Absolute heaven!!

The Estancia hotel offers a beautiful, quiet place to relax at "home," with all you really need in one place... Three restaurants (breakfast, lunch/dinner, wine bar, sport bar), a comfortable bed and clean room, a day spa (once they finish renovation), and LOCATION!!!

We loved this property - it was fun beautiful and relaxing.

You do not hear about it much but the restaurants are fantastic. We had dinner at the Mexican Restaurant than drinks at the Library Bar.

The service from the time we walked in the property was exceptional.

Room Tip: The Spa was closed during our stay.

We had a wonderful time at the Estancia La Jolla. We had never stayed there before, and it was so great. As we arrived they offered us sparkling wine and water, took us to our room which was lovely, and showed us around. We took advantage of the free arrival margaritas, as low point, as I think they forgot the tequila!, but it was a nice offer. We also used the jacuzzi which was clean and nice in the evening with candles and a fire in the pool area. Everyone was super friendly, and the facilities were great, although they were being re-modeled at the time, which wasn't the best. We ate at Adobe El Restaurante for breakfast which was absolutely delightful. We would definitely recommend a visit to this charming hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a fantastic review. I’m glad you had a chance to enjoy things like the whirlpool and breakfast in Adobe El Restaurante. You will have to come back and visit the Spa next time, it is going to look great after the enhancement project is complete in just a couple more weeks!
