Excellent walk along the beach on the sand between the houses and the water as well as in front of the Beach and Tennis Club and the restaurant.

“An alternative to the Cove in La Jolla”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

La Jolla Shores has restaurants, little shops, hotel, and a wide expanse of public beach for sunning and swimming. The parking is sometimes a bit difficult as it is all on street parking. Nice place to bring the family to the beach.

“One of the nicest beaches in San Diego area.”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Parking can be a challenge if you get there later in the morning, but you can find parking on the local streets & the walk is nice. The park is a nice alternative to sitting in the sand if you'd like. It's big enough for some nice family reunions or field games. They have a great playground for the kids. Right now they're doing some remodeling. They have plenty of bathrooms & outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. They have a small selection of shops & resturants to take in while the older kids are enjoying the beach. You'll find bike rentals & tour information in this area. The beach is clean. From about pier 32, the south part of the beach is designated for swimmers & north of that to the Scripps pier is designated for surfers. North of the Scripps pier is a great place to check out the tide pools during low tide. You can check the internet to find out when those are. Hope this has been helpful & that you enjoy your visit!!

“Great Beach”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

The beach is kid friendly with a little playground and swings looking out at the ocean. The parking is tight, but it is worth it to try and find a spot!
