Owner description: San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The water is calm and the cove is ecologically protected. There is also a world famous dive site that is located in the La Jolla ecological preserve.

Any one from San Francisco area doesn't need to waste time on this. Nothing special not not much beautiful compare to Carmel area. But there are several seals and pelicans which kids may love. Paid parking lots are available so parking not a problem.

Beautiful and there is sealife that is abundant! My husband " found" my 30th anniversary ring in the seashells and surprised me 3 years ago on that trip so LaJollla Cove will always have a special place in my heart.

This was our first stop every morning of our stay a sour son loves seals and sea lions. They were on the beach and on the rocks barking away. Beautiful view of the ocean as well. A really fun way to spend some time seeing sea life.

Many will head to the north part of La Jolla Cove where the sea lions and multitude of pelicans and cormorants like to roost which is unfortunately an ongoing issue of the stench created by all that bird poop on the cliffs. So head south along the walkway and take a look southernly during a sunset. It is breathtakingly beautiful and great for the amateur photographer.
