Owner description: San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The water is calm and the cove is ecologically protected. There is also a world famous dive site that is located in the La Jolla ecological preserve.

“What a sight!”

Very popular viewing area for tourists, and sometimes gets quite crowded. Fabulous location to watch the sea lions hang out on their rocks. You couldn't be any closer to them than you are here.

“Sea Lions, Seals, and Snorkeling? What more can you ask for?!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

This place really put the icing on the cake for our visit to San Diego. To be able to see wildlife...FOR FREE is beyond NJ's way of life! lol The beach was clean, the waters were semi-calm (the tide was rising way to early and way to high, as per my San-Diegan cousin lol He said it was strange. Must've been the moon. Who knows lol). Wish we could've stayed longer! BRING AN UNDERWATER CAMERA! You can get so close to the Sea Lions when you're in the water!

“Seal Mania!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Although it great to get out on the beach and swim, i think the seals and sea lions of La Jolla need the cove. It is a protected beach where these lovely and smelly creatures can rest and swim. One thing unique here is you can swim with them, that is if you can brave the cold waters of the pacific! Do note that when babies are born there, the parents are very protective and part of the cove is closed off be security. Other than that, you can stroll the cove as you please and gaze at these cute sea mammals. Be sure to visit La Jolla cove during your visit!

“Scenic”

What a lovely walk! The ocean was spectacular. A variety of people from all around the world. Close to shops and places to eat. A nice walk that curves and has slight inclines - never boring.
