Owner description: San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The water is calm and the cove is ecologically protected. There is also a world famous dive site that is located in the La Jolla ecological preserve.

Amazing to be able to get so close to the seals. And what a sight they are. Never thought there would be so many and so close to view. And.....admission is free.
One of the more pleasant surprises of our trip to San Diego.

Fun town center with lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and boutiques, etc. Take a walk along the coastline and admire the wildlife, especially the seals. Beautiful beaches and views.

Beautiful, fun seafood town with excellent coastal things to do! There is nothing suburban about it. It can be chill or exciting depending on how adventurous you are. When your there, it's just like living on the ocean. Everything is open to the outside!

We went to the Cove right as the sun began to set. We had read about them, but did not really know what to expect. When we arrived we noticed a flurry of people walking down into the cove and when we looked over the edge, we saw a ton of seals! Although the portion of the beach where the seals congregate is "roped off," most people stepped over the rope to get closer. You did not want to get too close, as they are still wild animals and that was their space, but it was an awesome experience to get so close to them in the wild. As the sun continued to set, we continued down the street and watched from different points along the cove. I would highly recommend that as a "sunset must see"!
