One of the best places to go and watch the sunset. BEing from NY there is no place like this back home, to see such beauty is worth everything.

“Glorious place, but don't tell everyone.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

I was blown away by La Jolla Cove. Having read about it previously, I didn't expect it to live up to the hype. It does! Wonderful walks along the cliff tops, seals at one end of the village and a sealion colony at the other. The ocean front is pretty unspoilt for Southern California. There are restaurants dotted around and a shopping area and hotels back up in the town. Wonderful, gorgeous place. Just wish I could afford to live here....!

“La Jolla is Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Parking is somewhat a challenge, But it is well worth it. The seals and birds and waves are so entertaining and relaxing to watch and these seals are in the wild which beats a zoo every time. I could've stayed there all day!

“Beautiful and exciting”

You will not get bored visiting the cove. The sights are pretty, the seals and tourists are fun to watch and it is a nice place. Parking can be challenging but well worth the hassle. We could have stayed all day!

“swim with seals”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

Great place to visit, small beach and you have to be a good swimmer to swim there. a lot of people go in wet suits. seals are quite loud and lots of birds. Water temperatures were ok in end of October - around 19C, not balmy but ok to have a swim and sunbathe. There are public changing rooms and toilets nearby with some showers outside too. the rest rooms are really dated and really not very nice, but could be used if you are desperate. great to walk on the rocks, lovely atmosphere. you can get there by public transport but takes >1hr from Santa Fe station in the centre of San Diego. Make sure you have a breakfast / lunch at Cody's - a hip place with great service and food!
