Owner description: San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The water is calm and the cove is ecologically protected. There is also a world famous dive site that is located in the La Jolla ecological preserve.

Great for adults and children. My 9 year-old loved playing in the beach and crashing waves at La Jolla Cove beach, loved watching the seals at Children's Pool beach and loved collecting sea shells and sand dollars along the tide pools. I loved the free parking, the relaxing sounds of the waves, the cool ocean breeze, collecting sea shells and exploring the tide pools. We hit the usual tourist spots in San Diego and we agreed this was our favorite day. Go, you won't be disappointed! We parked beyond the 3 hour limit and did not get a ticket - we were by the swimming beach for about 5 hours then moved up to the tide pools and were there for about 3 hours.

La Jolla is a Malibu that fuses itself with urban panorama with a touch of class and elegance.

I have been hanging out in la Jolla and I did not expect such a great atmosphere. Terrific views of the ocean, everything so saddle (the houses, the shops, the beaches) felt like I was on a movie set but without any “fake” walkside or “fake” buoldings.

Surfers meet families, activists meet sea otters in simple words FANTASTIC.

Take a bit of Manhattan beach way of living, mix it with Malibu and add a bit of Laguna Beach … that’s La Jolla !

Great place to snorkle, my daughter and fiancee stayed in water for hours while I read on the beach. Seal smell eventually goes away :0)

This was listed as a top attraction in trip advisor and a great place to take kids. Our kids liked seeing the seals from a distance and even the overwhelming stench was amusing to them. But we walked a half mile to the children's beach to find if deserted and covered with trash and the water brackish and filled with kelp. Don't waste your time.

La Jolla Cove is a lovely place to go for a stroll and look at wildlife. There are lots of seals and sea lions, pelicans, cormorants and other birds. And it's free!
