Owner description: San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The water is calm and the cove is ecologically protected. There is also a world famous dive site that is located in the La Jolla ecological preserve.

“Great spot for families!”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

This whole area is beautiful! It's a great place for kayaking, swimming, wading in the water, or just relaxing on the sand. It can get a little crowded at the beach area because of its small size. Right up the road are the caves, which is definitely worth the short walk to see! The other way down the road, there is a huge area full of seals! You can even go down to the beach and get really close to the seals. It's awesome! There is little parking, so get there early in the day. Also, bring some food. I didn't find many places where food was sold around here. This is a must-see if you are in the La Jolla area!

“Great diving spot”

Get there very early to find parking. Walking the stairs is a good workout. Plenty of sea life to sea. Scuba or snorkel.

“Ohhh love love love the seals!”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

The locals need to appreciate these gorgeous and fun animals and leave them alone. They are the best part about La Jolla! We sat and watched them for hours, at different angles and you can walk along the concrete curve structure to get a closer look. I would do this again. It's free and you get to watch the seals sun themselves as well as frolic and swim in the surf of this little cove. It's free! I could spend all day there watching them play. The babies are super cute.

“One of my favourite”

A beautiful, amazing and spectacular beach. Puts southport beach to shame! Its location, the peacefulness, the sand and everything was perfect here.
Had a walk along the beach of course, gorgeous coastline all the way along.

“Unusual beach”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

Never saw one before with smaller sized Grand Canyon type features. Very beautiful area unlike any other. Just the right size to be roomy, but not overwhelming.
