If you are in to local, regional, and worldwide beer selections, this is your new home. Sitting outside in the open air, having a few cold ones, eating crispy chips with malt vinegar...this is the way life should be. Staff were excellent, location was excellent, and we are so pleased we popped on by. GO THERE!

Pages and pages and pages of beers to choose from; local, import, draft, bottled, light, dark, hoppy, anything you could possibly like or want to try is there. You can order a 4 oz sample for $2.50 and try one out before committing to a glass. The server was very knowledgeable about the beers and offered suggestions when we told her what we enjoyed. The place is a hole in the wall with about 8 tables inside a a covered area outside with more tables. The beers we settled on were very good, but I wasn't prepared for how good the burgers were. Half pound burgers that came from sustainable sources with no hormones added. Fabulous flavor with interesting combos for toppings: I had the burger with marsala mushrooms with cheese that I can't spell (starts with a g). I ordered it medium and it came medium. Surprise! Kelsey M was our server and she was wonderful. Made us feel very welcome when we arrived, was very helpful in our choices and did everything with a smile. Great restaurant!

Popped in for dinner one evening whilst travelling through CA. The beer menu is excellent and really makes it an occasion. The food was OK, nothing special. It's located a little off the beaten track but if you fancy a change from Bud then it is well worth seeking out

We came here on our first night in La Jolla and while it was very busy were able to find a spot! The hostess was very nice, but after she left it took about 15 minutes for our waitress to come over. When she did she was incredibly rude and was not friendly during our entire stay. I felt like it was a burden to her having to talk to us. Would definitely try again if we are in the area!

There are a lot of restaurants in La Jolla. The Public House is tucked away on Kline Street. We stumbled onto the house while walking the neighborhood in search of a lunch place. A peaceful setting away from the crowds.

Amanda was our waitress and very accommodating. She suggest the Wild Boar burger and shoestring fries as a special. It has been a long time (12 years) since I had Wild Boar and that was on a trip to Greve in Chianti in Italy.

This burger was over 1/2 a foot tall - an Amazing sight, in just the presentation. With thinly-cut caramelized onion rings at the top, layers of arugula and roasted tomato, it is an incredible meal. I could only master half of it at one seating, but the rest was still great for a snack later in the day. .

My wife had the Bleu Pear salad, with baby arugula and other greens, but the star here are the Pears Sautéed in Lemon & Sugar, plus the Bleu Cheese crumbles. The Caramelized Pecans. "salted" over the salad adds even more flavor. Again, helpings are generous.

The Beers and Ales selection is extensive with over 300 with many on tap. Again, very impressive. With so many to chose from, I asked Amanda to chose one -- a Nitro beer from Acoustic Ales Brewing known as Cask Citra XPA. A perfect beer to go with the Wild Boar burger.

All in all, a wonderful experience.
