Stayed for 3 nights, could of stayed longer, as it was so nice and relaxing, Our room #208 was right on the front overlooking the Ocean. We had a huge balcony, with comfy seating, and layed there and watched people walk by in the park, kids playing, seals barking, pelicans flying formation, and taking in the ocean breeze.

Our room was well appointed with a nice kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and a living room that gave us the same view, as sitting outside.

The staff was excellent, and a special thanks to Ryan, who was always asking if we needed anything, how was our day, etc....super person.

We used our car to hit San Diego one day, but other than that, you can walk up to the Village, and lots of shops, restaurants, and bars to pass away the day (thats if we could get off our killer deck).

On our arrival we were informed they were having a fund raiser/silent auction for World Music. They were setting up a stage (which was right below our bedroom window) for musicians from different parts of the globe. Talk about having a front row seat. Oh, and the staff, did say if it got to loud to let them know. (We have a son who plays in a band) No worries.

The music was a highlight, and it carried on to the park in front of us the following day, with more performers, food, displays, and a whole bunch of happy people in the audience.

All in all, a great and comfortable place. Oh the Continental breakfast was excellent.

Would we go back? In a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Room 208 for the killer deck and views.

I would highly tell all my friend to stay there. The location was perfect....food, shops and rage ocean steps away. The staff was great especially Amanda. Our room was perfect from the bathroom to the living room. We Ben had contact with the wonders and general manager.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room or a ocean room or two bedroom, be specific.

We stayed at a 2 bedroom suite which had a fantastic ocean view. The Pantai Inn is across the street of a small but nice beach, next to Scripps Park and 5 mins walk to Children's Pool, La Jolla Cove and the main street with great shopping and plenty of restaurants. The rooms are wonderful, a beautiful courtyard with tasteful patio furniture (outside heaters and great subtle lighting in the evening!), the staff is wonderful (very friendly and always helpful) and the Management is outstanding (we had one minor complaint upon check-in which was immediately followed-up by the Manager well beyond our expectations). The place is spotless, rooms are being serviced twice a day, very comfortable beds with luxurious bedding. The kitchen is well equipped and though the provided continental breakfast is excellent, this allowed us to supplement with home cooked eggs and pan cakes. We also celebrated my wife's birthday, and a bottle of champagne and chocolate were provided. Overall a real gem in La Jolla - excellent location, comfortable beds, and outstanding service!

This was one of the nicest places I have EVER stayed. All of the rooms are different so no guarantees but we had the most amazing view in our room. It was so close to the ocean that you could hear the waves crashing throughout the night. They have a very friendly staff and delicious chocolates are left on the pillows every night. Right on the ocean AND a minutes walk to all of the shops and restrunts....can you say perfect?

Sharing the secret that is Pantai Inn is a pleasure! This property is Amazing!! Our kids live in San Diego and when visiting them last fall we decided to take a risk on an unknown. Low and behold we spent 3 glorious nights in one of the most beautiful, exotic boutique hotels we've ever been in. We will stay no where else when visiting the area. From the cookies to the continental breakfast to the well appointed suites directly across from the ocean. Wow!! We cannot wait to return. This hotel has everything plus phenomenal staff that treat you like friends!
Thank you!!

The Pantai Inn is a collection of small apartments located across from the ocean in La Jolla. You can easily walk to all of the La Jolla downtown attractions and restaurants and along the ocean for miles. We had a one bedroom partial ocean view suite which had a small kitchen, dining room, separate living room and bedroom. It was quite large, but the space was not laid out in a way that felt spacious. In particular, there was only a very small closet and one small dresser; not enough storage to comfortably unpack.
Included in the very reasonable price is free parking, internet and breakfast. The breakfast (a cold buffet) was more than adequate, but after a few days, the same items (they ran out of some things) became very boring. The two gripes we had were that the bed was terrible, in need of replacement, and the noise level. The room are set on multi levels, and the windows from one unit are adjacent to the next. If your neighbor has a window open, even if yours is closed, you can hear every word from the next unit. Finally there were hotel renovations being done right next to our unit which lasted all day, and we were not warned about the noise when we checked in.
In summary, we would recommend the Pantai Inn for a short stay, particularly in pricey La Jolla.

Room Tip: Some units appear to have been renovated.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Pantai. I wanted to take the time to address your concerns. One of the many features making Pantai Inn so uniquely special is its collection of nearly century old buildings. Due to the historic nature of the accommodations ownership was unable to alter the structure. That tasked them with maximizing the space that each room provided.

In regards to the bed I apologize that you found them to be uncomfortable. Our Bouvet Island Plus mattresses are rated much higher than the Heavenly Beds found at other high-end hotels. We try to make them as comfortable as possible by outfitting them 100% Egyptian cotton linens.

It is our standard to alert every guest to the construction occurring in the buildings surrounding the property. Our front desk did not follow proper procedure and we have revisited these procedures to ensure that this does not happen in the future. The construction noise you encountered is actually addressing your concern regarding our complimentary breakfast. We are adding a new food service facility that will provide Pantai Inn guests with an enhanced culinary experience featuring tastes of Bali.

Again, I apologize for our shortcomings but we do hope that you enjoyed your stay at Pantai. I can assure you that each of your concerns was reviewed with ownership and staff alike.

We spent two nights here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Upon arrival we were escorted to our immaculate suite, with a full kitchen and a rainfall shower. They provided a complimentary bottle of wine as a birthday gift. The inn is located directly across the street from the beautiful La Jolla coastline and a short walk from the downtown village. A delicious continental breakfast is provided, consisting of juice, fresh fruit and delicious locally baked pastries which you can enjoy on the grounds of the outdoor patio. Coffee is always available in the lobby. Victoria, Amanda, and the manager Ryan were very friendly and helpful with all our needs. The only issue I had was a bad bearing in a air conditioner unit made a whining noise during the night. When I mentioned it in the morning, Ryan immediately arranged to transfer us to another even larger suite. We have stayed in other nice B&B's in La Jolla and the Pantai Inn definitely tops the list.
