“If you have the view, you don't need the food ...”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

I expect it is the promised (and delivered) ocean view that brings people in. But once you've savored that, it's down hill. Fish (!) dinners were disappointing . Lobster / shrimp bisque was fine - probably the best item served. Service bordered on obsequious with a touch of arrogance - not a good combination. Menu suggestions were not helpful and seemed mostly to be based on "selling up".

Overall not worth the price.

“Fabulous ocean view”

The view. Service was great. Thought the fish was disappointing --the grouper and the filet of sole.

“Good find”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

We drifted in on a Tuesday evening and were luck to get a table.
The ambience is really nice. Old school quiet and dark, with a great view over the ocean.
Attentive, but not too overbearing service.
Great cocktails and a really interesting menu.
we had a tuna tartare, apple salad, scallops and chicken. All very well cooked and presented. Plus a nice glass of Merlot.
All in all a very good first evening in La Jolla.
Not cheap, but worth it.

“Amazing View and dessert!”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Stopped in for lunch. Sat on the patio of the lounge. What an amazing view of the cove. Had a nice salad, champagne and a rich banana bread desert to share with friends!! WOW! It was a little chilly that day but the waiter moved one of the patio heaters over to our table. Perfect!
