This is a excellent hotel. We got a good rate on the internet. There is a $25 parking fee. The view of Torrey Pines golf course was great, but not from our room. Because of the rate we got i didn't expect to. We did have a balcony and a nice view of the patio and pool.

Very solid 4+++ Hilton. They post their TA 4 star rating at the check in desk. Another good sign is that the management is answering TA ratings. There are a few issues that prevent a 5 star rating from me, but gosh, overall, it's a great place. I've stayed at every Hilton property in San Diego, Hilton TP is overall the best. The Bayfront is newer, but I'd take TP over Bayfront every day of the week.

The good parts:
Location-get real, look at the pictures. It's on a world class golf course, that overlooks a very scenic part of the Pacific coast.

Service-Outstanding. First rate all around. Was here for a business meeting and everything was flawless. Had an issue when I got back to the room that the bathroom door was locked. Guy was up in less than 5 minutes, opened the door. Guest Services called up and comped my parking for the inconvenience. That's service. Also, the doorman used his golf cart to take us a couple of hundred yards to the restaurant next door AND picked us up when we were done eating.

Food-Good for a business meeting. The breakfast buffet was free for my Honors membership, was also good.

Room-bed good, TV nice and big, internet over 2Mpbs, all good.

Room for improvement:
Internet-free for me, but $25 a day for everyone else is not competitive with the market. Wanted $25/day for attendees at the meeting, just crazy. Paid $12/day for meeting attendees in Manhattan last month, much more reasonable.

The room-generally good/great, see above. The bathroom in my room had been refurbished, but the desk furniture/TV stand/drawers are in serious need for replacement. Also, hard to believe, but I had zero outlets available. There were two well hidden in a dark corner of the desk, but they weren't operable. Pulled a dusty power strip out of the back of the TV and made due. You need at least two 110V outlets at the desk and at the bedside.

Stayed here for a Valentine's Day "staycation" and was pleased with all aspects of this hotel - location, amenities, accommodations, etc. Highly recommend for people traveling through La Jolla. My wife and I will be returning to visit next time we are in town.

Very disappointed I thought this would be a great location but it's a rather jaded unattractive building that seems to have been setup to serve the conference market. I walked around the grounds which are well kept but there were no seats to enjoy the view of the golf course. The restaurant and bar area are cavernous and have no character.

My bedroom was dark and dull with a view of the golf course car park and if you stretched you could just about see the view.

Do not recommend

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We do offer a large amount of meeting space and we also provide seating areas with fire pits on our restaurant patio with views of the golf course and the Pacific Ocean. All of our rooms feature patios or balconies facing the golf course. Please let us know next time if you would like a brighter room and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Booked a tee time at Torrey Pines South with a hotel room reservation (only way to get a tee time reservation if the course is full). Rooms are nice, though layout of the hotel is strange and easy to get lost in. Walk to golf club from the hotel or get valet to drop you.

Stayed here for two nights at the business end of a holiday weekend. Found the room appeared recently remodeled with new furniture and fixtures. Had asked for no feather bedding in the room. Saddly this wasn't accomplished until hours after I checked in. At least I only had to call once. Too bad they weren't more proactive--my last three stays at Hilton family properties I found this task completed BEFORE I checked in.
Nice location close to Torrey Pines reserve were you can walk or hike around the trails and get to the ocean. Staff had a map to hand out about the trails, etc.
Annoying that you have to pay an extra amount to park and use the Internet in your room. Even Home Depot has free WiFi these days. Exercise room was nicely equipped.
And am concerned about security after reading about the person having his car broken into. I noticed people obviously not guests in the garage--thought they were construction people, but maybe not. If you have to pay to park they should have security.
