“Beautiful Campus”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

If I were the best professor in the world at something, or the lead researcher, and I could be at any university in the world UCSD is where I would want to be. It's a gorgeous campus, and you are surrounded by top notch researches. Good student life. Loses one star for not being division I.
If you're a tourist, take a campus tour to see all the ins and outs, then ask an art student to show you the cool stuff.

UCSD is always growing with new buildings and programs. What a place to go to school or enjoy some of its offerings.

“Scenic Drive”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

I went to UCSD on the bus. It was a long drive but well worth it. The route hugs the coast, passing through picturesque little towns and views of gorgeous beaches that are unbelievable. No wonder they say that this is a surfer's paradise.

“This is a lovely campus with a well-regarded outdoor art collection”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

If you are looking for a place for a nice walk in a country setting, UCSD is pretty good, especially for an urban area like San Diego. Weekends have ample parking which is free and, if you go on line to the Stuart Collection, you should be able to find the art scattered around the campus. There are also interesting architectural pieces like the Geisel Library. Or, if you want to get over to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography which is physically west of the main campus, you can go to the Aquarium and have lunch at the new restaurant right on the beach at the payne Conference Center. The UCSD web site has lots of other ideas and activities and, if you are with a young person looking for a college to attend, check on the campus touring system for a more formal visit to the campus.
