Visiting the caves is always a treat. The drive down the coast is beautiful, the whole cove is amazing. One of our favorite trips in San Diego County.

“Cool, but smells like crap”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

This is a semi-neat place to visit but the amount of odor emitted from the birds and the seals is nearly unbearable. I know there are news reports and what not to back-up this claim, but it is still cool to go visit if need be.

this is why you go. it is expensive and though i grew up here i didn't go till i moved back and could afford it. if you are on a budget in SD, you might want to skip it for other activities

“fun trip - kids, mom and dad all loved it”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

took a guided kayak trip out. seemed like a waste of $'s at first but both guides were great. seals swam right up to the kayaks. awesome! Don't pass on the wetsuit as the water & wind can be very cold.

“Fun but worth the money?”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

I would have to classify as a tourist trap. You enter in through a gift shop, pay $4, go down the stairs to see the entrance to a cave, take a picture...and then you go back up the stairs - $4 less in your pocket. But it's an adventure for the kids.
