“A hidden gem”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

While riding bikes into and around lajolla cove, we stumbled upon this small sandwich shop. Because our rental facility forgot to give us locks we couldn't go into any of the main restaurants along prospect st. With an outstanding view of the cove, the three of us sat at a small table right by our bikes. The shop is open air so you can enjoy the beautiful weather. I had the tuna salad sandwich that comes with goldfish, as all sandwiches do. My wife had the turkey on wheat and my son had the turkey on artisan bread. All sandwiches were fresh and large. good food with an outstanding place to people watch.

“Goldfish Cafe has great views”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

Food was fine, service was mediocre, view was spectacular. Not alot of effort put into the food preparation or the greeting and caring for the customers. I don't think I will go back, as great as the views are, this place just gives off a negative vibe..like the attendants would rather be somewhere else.

“Great view and decent sandwiches for a reasonable price”
Reviewed March 6, 2013 via mobile

Nothing fancy, but it's cheap and tasty and the view is outstanding. Best sandwiches are The Cove and the Turkey Panini.

“Best coffee on the trip”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Well we haven't been impressed with our coffees this trip.
However, that changed with our stop here.
Great coffee, incredible view an really home type service:)
Parking can be crazy but not bad mid week.
This is now the third to e we have ventured here. Can't be disappointed. Just keep things in perspective, you are at a local coffee joint with young servers

“Nothing great except the view”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Stopped to grab breakfast while in La Jolla Village, what a huge disappointment! There is NO kitchen in this place. All food is either microwaved or toasted in a toaster! No grill, stove, oven, griddle, just heat and serve. After ordering our breakfast at the counter (Greek scramble & breakfast croissant) we asked for the eggs to be cooked medium and were told quote "All our stuff is microwaved. We don't have a grill." What? Eggs cooked in a microwave? Geez people, at the very least, if you are going to serve breakfast, get a grill! Also, coffee in this place...no creamer or milk, just packaged dry creamer. One more thing, the toast....served with frozen butter. Do yourself a favor, go further down the street for a true La Jolla food experience.
