“Good quick stay in La Jolla”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

The Inn was a good value for the money and in an excellent location. The hotel staff was nice enough to leave our key for us as we got there late and the rooms were quite nice. The breakfast was very simple. The only complaint we had was our neighbors who smoked outside our doors but that's not the fault of the Inn. I would definitely stay here again when I am in La Jolla.

If what you expect is a seaside B&B with no perks, this is the place. The rooms were clean. Slight improvements would definitely improve the experience. Thoughts include higher quality sheets, softer pillows, larger towels, a rug on the floor and minor decorative improvements. Location is great and a few tweaks are all it needs. If you are an early riser, beware that breakfast doesn't start before 0800. The good news is that Starbucks is only a short drive away.

Room Tip: Get a second floor if possible. You can hear all movements above you if on the first floor.

This was our second visit to this inn. Location cannot be better. Easy access to the ocean walk and running paths. Very nice deck to enjoy breakfast on,read, or watch the sunset. This is a very well maintained period lodging, very reminiscent of "Same Time Next Year" era.

We just returned from a four night stay at this inn. It was right on the beach and close to restaurants and shops. We shared a room with our two teenage boys. The staff was patient with our wet suits and snorkelling gear and they were eager to help with information on local sites.
A really lovely place to stay!

We spent one night there to enjoy the area. It was a very nice B&B right on the shore. Great location at the en of all the shops. You could walk across the street and see an amazing view of the coast. The person at the front desk was extremely nice and very helpful. The rooms were adequate with a small kitchenette and mini fridge if you need one. I would recommend it for future stays.

This place has lots of character and charm. The rooms are large in size. the bed was very comfortable. If you are one who finds themselves liking sleek and modern and the most up to date in interior finishes, this place may not be for you. If you like quaint and want to get away from the boxy hotel, you will love this place. The location is fabulous; just about 30 steps to the beach across the road. I was disappointed in the bath towels; old and worn. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful as was the other staff. I met several couples who had been coming to this inn for 10+ years; one from Utah and the other from Virginia. You can hear the ocean and that is important to me. Gorgeous sunsets. Whales were in the cove so that was fabulous.

I recommended this hotel to friends who were visiting from out of town. I pass by this hotel often, thought the location was fantastic, and had checked it out online. Online, it looked very clean and beachy with lots of white linens, etc. However, the reality is quite different from the online photos. The rooms were dingy, as was the furniture. The bedroom linens were clean, but bathroom linens were very poor quality. The dining table and chairs looked as though they were old outdoor furniture. Overall felt dirty and in need of some serious renovation. Would not recommend again.
