We have eaten here twice during our four day stay in La Jolla. Very good both times. Great place to buy fresh seafood to cook at home, or they will cook anything from their 2 large cases for you. A few tables inside and out. The chowder was thick and very fresh. Salmon burger was excellent, but my favorite was the grilled swordfish sandwich served on grilled bread. Don't miss this place!

Luckily a California local directed us Aussies here! The place was pretty busy for a Wednesday mid-afternoon but we soon found out why - the fish tacos were so fresh and delicious. The clam chowder was amazing too. We're back home now and still talking about this place - wish we could get similar here. Will be a must-eat if we get back to La Jolla.

Nice selection of fish and seafood cooked for you on the spot. Not too many tables though and it gets pretty crowded so get there early.

This is a small market and a line can easily form and clog up the store. It appears that there is a building across the street that they will move into. That will be a better location if it is as busy as it was for Sunday dinner. If I lived in the area, this would be the place I would get my fish. Gorgeous cuts, fishmongers who know their craft, and good food. Grilled fish tacos on corn tortillas. I added the avocado for extra flavor. If you are in La Jolla, get out of touristy chain restaurants, and get into El Pescador!

The fish is fresh. Often have some local catch. But the restaurant side isn't really "together" half the time they overcook the fish. Nothing like paying $11 for a dried out filet in your sandwich. There is a sign across the street on a restaurant so maybe they will improve when they have the right facilities. There is virtually no parking or seating and lots of tourist traffic. Go early or late.
