“Great stay, Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

Reason for the visit; climbing Lover’s Leap. Had a great stay at the Strawberry Lodge, the room was neat and clean, the staff was fabulous. Special thanks to Stacey, Kerry and Dan for making us feel like family. The food was great and fresh, the bar was the place to hang after a day’s worth of climbing. The bar was well stocked with a Great beer selection and quality whiskies, looking forward to a return visit. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We ate every meal at the Lodge, food was fresh and came out hot, and the burgers were as tall as the east wall. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

“Rustic Charm, Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2011

On our way home from Lake Tahoe, we stopped by the Strawberry Lodge for breakfast. I had driven past it many times, but never eaten there. We weren't sure at first that the restaurant portion was open since there was only one family in there eating and no one was at the front desk. There was plenty of parking and we were quickly seated.

There was one waitress working and it took a while to get our food ordered and delivered. She also seemed off balance when we asked for a pitcher of orange juice instead of individual glasses.

The atmosphere was rustic and it was really fascinating reading about the history of the lodge and seeing parts of it that had been around for so long. The food servings were good and well-prepared.

One challenging part of the visit was getting back on the freeway during traffic, but it just took a little patience. The cost was about what you would expect for a restaurant that has to haul its food up the mountain and have employees come from far away. Overall, it was a fun experience and we may do it again in the future.
