“A HIDDEN GEM!!!!!!”

A HIDDEN GEM!

My fiance and I stay at this inn last spring for several nights. It is wonderful in so many ways! Firstly, the location is amazing. The inn is situated DIRECTLY on the Klamath river, and within a 20 minute or so drive from Jedidiah State Park, and other wonderful Redwood havens. The inn is incredibly lovely and cozy, and feels like a beautifully preserved lodge/B&B. There is historical material at the inn that shows the history of the location and the age of the inn itself. Very cool! There is a fireplace in the main room with comfortable chairs and couches for lounging at night, windows looking out to the river, books, a guitar, and many other lovely little touches for guests to enjoy. They even have binoculars so you can sit and bird watch out the windows.

All the rooms are comfortable and have their own bathrooms, and I feel they are reasonably priced - especially given the amazingly delicious breakfast each morning. I recommended staying in one of the rooms that overlook the river. In the morning, waking up to the mist-covered river is amazing. It's so quiet where the inn is located - a really relaxing place to stay. We stayed in the Emerald Ridge room, and thought it was beautiful and comfortable and had a lot of character.

The other amazing part of this inn is the FOOD! The chef is (I believe) the owners son, and the food is amazing. Everything is locally sourced. We had a pork dish one night, and the chef said the pork had come from a farmer just down the road. The dinners were DEEEEELICIOUS, and the breakfast is awesome!!! Definitely have dinner at the inn when you stay! The owner was very friendly and very helpful, and gave us great advice about good hikes in the nearby national parks, and provided us with some maps as well.

We had a 5 star worthy stay, and I can't wait to come back to the mist-covered Klamath! I will definitely be coming back to the Requa Inn and can't recommend it highly enough. Truly a hidden gem.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the river side!

We stayed one night at the Requa Inn and loved it. The out of the way location, with a room overlooking the river, the fabulous dinner with locally produced food, tasty and plentiful breakfast, and a very comfortable bed. We got to meet and chat with 3 of the 4 innkeepers and all of them seemed to sincerely be loving what they are doing. It's a historic inn, which means that the floors might not be even, and there might be noise between rooms....though we didn't have problems with any of that. We'll be recommending the Requa Inn to our friends and family who live in the region.

Room Tip: You can ask for a river view.

This relatively unknown historic gem of a B&B is located just off Route 101 in
the middle of the Redwoods of northern California. Our room was very clean, good
sized and graced by many windows overlooking the Klamath River with many birds
and seals traveling by in the water. The only negative was the noise from
vehicles turning down a road to the fishing marina, which was very busy during
our visit as it was the end of the commercial fishing season. The food was
fabulous - fresh salmon caught the same day from the river and locally sourced
vegetables that enticed my vegetarian wife. The dinners are very modestly priced
and an incredible value. The breakfast included in our room rate was by far the
best of our week-long trip of southern Oregon and northern California. The
staff was very friendly and enhanced the very homey atmosphere of this quaint
inn.

We chose to stay at the Historic Requa Inn because it was centrally located in the Redwoods National Park - it also had some nice reviews. After a short time at the Requa, we realized we had found a gem. Promptly greeted by the owner, we were given a tour of the inn and shown to our room. There is a warmth there. Perhaps because it is family owned and every one took a genuine interest to make sure we had a great stay. Or, perhaps it is the comfortable furnishings in the living room that invite you to relax and enjoy the views of the Klamath River
Situated in the center of the Redwoods State and National Park and only ½ mile from the ocean, it is the ideal place to set out for hiking and visits to the beach. Nearby, there is an overlook that we were able to spot gray whales from.
Each morning we were served a delicious “cooked to order” hot breakfast. There were plenty of items to choose from. In the evening, there was a limited menu served which changing nightly. The food quality was excellent. They use locally grown products and it shows in the flavor of the meals. We found the meals delicious and reasonably price.
Our room was very clean. Staying in an inn that is almost a century old, we expected that the rooms might be a bit noisier than one might find in a modern hotel, however we did not find it to be of any great distraction. In fact, the night offered a comforting peacefulness.
The Requa’s 100 years of history make it unique and charming. The views from the dining and living room looking across the Klamath River and down the valley were an added bonus. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning to stay in the Redwoods N.P. area and hope that someday we can return.

This is a charming, small hotel in a great location on the Klamath River. We really enjoyed our one night stay. Our room was warm and cozy with a very large bathroom. Nice comfy bed.The staff is friendly and efficient. There's a nice common area with books and magazines. The breakfast is very good, lots of great choices (Note:the griddle cakes are HUGE). We recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Room Tip: Our room was on the road/river side. There wasn't any noise during the night but we could hear...

Well, the Requa Inn is "as described" by every other guest. Rustic, no phones, no TV, and that was all fine by me - it's really a neat place.

What was completely unacceptable was a couple dogs in the area which, according to many other guests kept us all awake for a majority of the night. What was particularly disconcerting was that one of the B&B owners said to me "Yeah, I was about ready to go and do something about that dog!" Well, if I was a B&B owner the barking would be a priority.

Instead, this hotel is stuck in a neighborhood of hard luck dysfunctional looking houses who's residences evidently can sleep through all this pandemonium. If I wanted noise I wouldn't have chosen a romantic B&B away from it all. As it was, I would have had better luck just about anywhere else.

This is sad to report because the rest of the stay was pretty ok, but hard to enjoy when so sleep deprived, ruining not only the night but the following day. I didn't stay at the Requa to be stressed out.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at The Requa Inn and we are already talking about coming back. It is centrally located to many of the Redwood State Parks and the National Park and the views from the Inn are spectacular! You can also easily drive to the nearby towns of Eureka and Crescent City. Although they serve different pancakes and breakfast meats each day, breakfast consists of the same items each morning, but you have the ability to mix and match from the menu. following a long day of sightseeing and hiking, the Inn is the best bet for dinner. The meals were delicious and the menu changes nightly. The rooms were very comfortable (we recommend Cathedral Trees), and the owners/staff ensured that our stay was delightful!
