We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Location is great. Outdoor onsen is superb. Staff is friendly. Room is big. However, I emailed the hotel regarding a pair of blue jeans that I left behind in the hotel room, but I have yet to hear from anyone. I stayed 1 night on Sunday 19 May 2019.More

A hotel for the masses and tour groups
Nothing luxurious about this hotel. Check out is strictly 10am the next morning although we checked in at about 7pm that evening. Dinner was inclusive in our package but we didn’t enjoy it at all. Food quality was like a canteen sort of catering. Air of cooked and deep fried food. Banquet hall was huge to accommodate the masses but the food selection was in my opinion for the very easygoing eater.

Nice First Onsen Experience
Most of the English reviews here were way too harsh so I thought I'd drop my own two cents in... Yes, the facilities are old, but it's a tatami style hotel so I wasn't expecting top of the line amenities. Pretty impressive for the staff to come in your room in the evening to make up the beds and take them away in the morning. Every single day of the stay.

We came for New Year's so the food at the buffet was actually pretty good. Tempura, make-your-own-noodles, fresh sushi, green tea ice cream... my family and I were more than satisfied. By far not our best meal in Japan but considering how Noboribetsu is a super small town, we were glad that we could get food at the hotel.

I can't speak for other hotels in the area but I also liked the onsen area itself. There was a large indoor pool for soaking as well as an outdoor pool. Soaking in an onsen outside while snow is falling is pretty magical.

My family and I definitely had a good time here - just reframe your perspective and you probably will too if you end up booking here. Might be a bit overpriced, but I imagine most hotels in this area are, given how Noboribetsu is Hokkaido's most famous hot spring resort.

Convenient hotel with onsen facilitates
We picked the hotel because it was nearby the bus terminal and they provide bus shuttle service from Sapporo for a min charge.

Hotel was old but acceptable. Room size was ok. Wifi did not work well. Breakfast was good but remember don't missed your time slot given, they refuse entry even if u have 5 mins b4 breakfast close.

Special breakfast corner for kids is a nice touch but no control as to customers without kids also help themselves with the food there.

Mediocre hotel at exorbitant prices
Maybe I booked too late but for $380/night I expected more than torn up walls, crying babies and thin futon mattresses. My shoes got stolen when I was in the onsen, our breakfast table got taken by other customers and they wanted to charge $5 to store a bag!

Poor & Bad customer Service But Good Facilities
This is the 3rd time I had bad / poor customer service in Japan with these Onsen/Ryokans stay run by the local Japanese. The service was really bad and unacceptable. As my travel is in Dec and it was very cold winter with snow fall and temperature below 1 degree, the hotel does not provide HOT water on the dispenser after 10pm at the lobby! When we went to approach the reception staff for it, the reply was very rude and they just gave a straight NO & with their hand gesture showing an X to indicate a straight NO! On my 2nd day, i went to ask for direction to get to Hell's Valley and Bear Park and the staff that attended to me was very unwilling to disseminate info to a inhouse guest! I m really very upset and dissappointed and I reckoned that only these hotels run by the local Japanese have very bad and poor customer service! The hotels down in Sapporo city were not like that and their service were EXCELLENT! I get to experience 2 different kind of service during my trip! haha ... but I would say, the breakfast and dinner served at Noboreibetsu Manseikaku is good!
