This is the 3rd time I had bad / poor customer service in Japan with these Onsen/Ryokans stay run by the local Japanese. The service was really bad and unacceptable. As my travel is in Dec and it was very cold winter with snow fall and temperature below 1 degree, the hotel does not provide HOT water on the dispenser after 10pm at the lobby! When we went to approach the reception staff for it, the reply was very rude and they just gave a straight NO & with their hand gesture showing an X to indicate a straight NO! On my 2nd day, i went to ask for direction to get to Hell's Valley and Bear Park and the staff that attended to me was very unwilling to disseminate info to a inhouse guest! I m really very upset and dissappointed and I reckoned that only these hotels run by the local Japanese have very bad and poor customer service! The hotels down in Sapporo city were not like that and their service were EXCELLENT! I get to experience 2 different kind of service during my trip! haha ... but I would say, the breakfast and dinner served at Noboreibetsu Manseikaku is good!
