This was the final of three hotels this trip & was meant to have been the best. 4 star it isn't at best a 3. We should have had an ocean wing deluxe which turns out to be a view of the car park but on arrival they had upgraded us to an ocean wing superior which did have views of the beach & pool between the trees our sons room was better. While the view was better the beds where only twin pushed together. The rooms were in need of modernisation as was most if the hotel.
The only area that is fully air conditioned is your bedroom everywhere else is open to the elements so is very hot.
The hotel complex is huge & because of this makes it very impersonal. The pool area is nice but if the hotel was full I'm not sure how they would cope with the lack of chairs & area unless you like to be by the sea. The staff where not attentive at all around the pool. There would be at least seven working or chatting around the pool bar but if you needed a drink you'd have to go get it yourself.
There is absolutely nothing to do at all in the season that we went either in the hotel or the beach, unless there was but we weren't told about it on our arrival.

There is no entertainment except for the resident band who play in the evening but they are dreadful. The food is good, except that three out of four of us have suffered with upset tummies & we haven't eaten outside the hotel.
Also it's very expensive in comparison to the other hotels that were in a different league.
The bungalows are at the far end of the beach sitting on very green muddy water, the thatched roofs are nonexistent. They are right next to a shanty town & the sea up that end is very green.

Overall a very disappointing week. Which is a shame to end our trip on such a low.

We found the hotel and staff to be very helpful especially Kris assistant front office manager who immediately moved us to another room when the air con in the first room was not working and continued to look after us throughout our stay. We wanted to relax after travelling around Laos and Cambodia. The rooms were large and comfortable and cleaned every day, the beach was beautifully quiet as it was low season. The pool clean as were the lobby and restaurants and every member of staff we came across were polite, friendly and very attentive and they are a credit to the hotel. We hope to return one day.

Beach resort was a welcome rest spot for our Cambodian bucket trip Very nice rooms friendly staff and good breaky. Pool area can be crowded at times swim up bar got a lot of use nice beach ideal for a refreshing swim. Lemongrass was very nice with meals ( a little expensive ) but a picturesque spot Excellent spa was well patronised by our small group can recommend a session there. Not far to town and shopping only one gripe one of our friends had to change rooms bottom floor room was a bit smelly.

i had been at the same hotel in december and i really loved it, so i decided to go back, thinking that being not peak season it would be even better, but i had a bad surprise.
i had asked for a king bed sea view room and i was told it was not available at all so for 3 days i was kept in a room with twin beds.
probably because it was not peak season (though i was told that there were no rooms available when i asked to change mine) the staff was less so the service was not as good as in december, but the worst thing that happened to me was that while going back to my room one morning a fat rat just crossed the corridor in front of me & ran into the empty restaurant (all clients were fortunately in the open air one).
the spa has nice steam room and jacuzzi, but i think that the treatments are overpriced especially because during my facial they were using the cheap soap that you could find in all the bathroom to clean my face between one treatment and the other...

We stayed in Sokha Beach resort towards the end of our 3 week tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. It was a wonderful place to relax after the hustle and bustle of other places. There is not a lot to do in Sihanoukville itself so I would recommend you go there to relax rather than explore. We found the staff to be very friendly and the food to be good with a wide variety. I did not find it overly priced and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. The rooms we stayed in were very clean and quiet and one had the biggest bed I have every seen. I used the gym which was kept very clean, not something I can say of other gyms in Cambodia. Was travelling with husband and daughters aged 17and 20 and we all really loved the long white sandy beach. The resort has two beautiful pools and is fairly luxurious. Would certainly stay there again.

After a long journey from the uk and then a four hour car journey from Phnom Pehn we arrived at Sokha Beach Hotel tired and drained. From the moment we walked into reception we were taken care of, given cold drinks and checked in. The general manager, Trilok Narain, introduced himself and welcomed us.
The staff, most of whom are quite young, delivered the best service we have experienced...they genuinely cared about their customers and the service they delivered....nothing was too much trouble for them...and they were fun.
Breakfast offered a total range of excellently cooked food and we had several dinners at their lemongrass restaurant just down the beach by courtecy car of course. A most romantic setting.
The private beach was idylic, clean with warm clear sea. Our room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable.
I would recommend this hotel without reservation.
We suggest you hire a motor bike from Sihanoukville to explore the area. At $6 per day it beats tuk tuks any day and you get to see much more of the local area.
Also get the hotel to organise a trip to one of the local islands on the fastest boat you have ever travelled on!!!!
