We wanted to unwind our two and a half week travel around Cambodia so decided to stay at this resort for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year.

We reserved the Executive Suite in the main building for 5 of us including 3 children. We waited for an hour for our room to be ready and were pleasantly surprised that the hotel upgraded our room to the Mohori Presidential Suite which could be the best room in the hotel. The suite was located at the western end of the resort on the water, very close to the beach but far away from the main building. However this wasn’t an issue for us because the buggy was there to take us around the resort wherever and whenever. We did not use the two swimming pools in the hotel because we had a private one all to ourselves. Everything inside this suite was of a true 5 star standard (see photos).

We requested mosquito spray in our room a few times and also a repair of the broken front door, these were all attended to promptly. We were also happy with the room cleaning service. We were supplied at least 10 complimentary bottles of water daily.

Sokha beach is the best beach in Sihanoukville. The hotel was fully booked when we were there so finding a spare lounger on the beach after breakfast was a challenge. Thanks to the gentleman who managed the beach area for arranging two sunbeds under the shade for us. Learning from other hotel guests, we signed out the beach towels early in the morning the next day, put them onto the sunbeds just to reserve the spots. At the end of the day we had to sign back in the towels.

The buffet breakfast at Champa Café & Bar was quite good and had a lot of variety. The chefs could cook you omelette and noodles instantly. We had lunch at the Lemongrass restaurant twice and were impressed with the quality of the food there. On the dessert menu the mango tart with coconut ice cream was to die for. The ice cream with lemongrass flavour was something different and became my kids’ new favourite. We took Tuk Tuk to downtown for dinner every night just to try different restaurants. The Treasure Island Seafood Restaurant offered the most delicious food in my opinion.

We took a boat trip to the Koh Sam Pouch beach which was the finest beach (naturally clean and beautiful) in the Ream National Park. The trip was led by park rangers and included a 30 minutes trekking from the beach through the jungle to the Thmor Thom fishing village. You can arrange the trip at the park headquarters near the Sihanoukville airport.

All in all we could not find one thing to fault this hotel and we had the most enjoyable and relaxing time there.

Great hotel!! Cheap room service, two lovely pool areas, room cleaned spotless every day and beach was amazing. The deck was a great way to spend those lazy afternoons sipping cocktails.
Maybe not 5 star but what idiot would ever think it was going to be for the cheap price of the room!
Overall we had a great holiday and will definitely be going back!!

this resort charge for 5 star but the value is only 2-3 star. The only positive is the beach, but even here you don't have umbrellas for all beds. So if you don't reserve ( what I hate) you have to stay in the sun which is impossible during 12.00-15.00. Also most of them dirty and old, not like I am used to have in a 5 star resort. Sorry but this is an absolutely no go.
Also what I did not like was, that a lot of local people can buy a beach day, occupy the beach during the relaxing time ( we have only 1 holiday a year to relax) and than they make noise for 1000 people. This is not professional. For the towels be prepared that they have a book and you have to fill out also when you bring back the towels and if not they are telling you bring back the towels the other morning.
For the restaurant can say we gave them 2 trials and both were not good only expensive. The tasting of the food was boring, cold served and in the main restaurant we had to wait for 2 hours. So nothing with a quick lunch, another 2 hours of wasting value time for even an ordinary overpriced lunch. There is a lot of work to do for the management. Even there are not many choices is Sihanoukville, they can't charge 5 star and serve 2-3 star,

In town there is a very nice French Restaurant Bar called PURE, you can eat 100 times better for less money., have a charming service and cool place.
Just take the tuck tuck for 3 Dollars and have a nice evening and after a good massage at the Massage place Rekax ( for 3rd of the price like in Sokha).

We will never come back and also give no recommendation for Sokha. There is only one option the Hotel Tamu ( small and stylish) at Otred Beach 2.

We had a nice stay -- the room was HUGE and clean, the beach also quite big and quite clean, the pool...same. The Deck restaurant was quite nice and breakfast was pretty good at the other restaurant, but other meals there were pricey and only okay. The furniture, bathrooms and general decor of the rooms (we stayed in one of the villa rooms, not the hotel so can't speak to them) was a bit dated and could really use and upgrade, especially for what you pay to stay there. And the shower was terrible -- just a dribble of lukewarm water. There are much cheaper, hipper places in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Sihanoukville doesn't seem like it has that many more nice places to stay, so this might be your best bet if you choose to visit here. We were unimpressed with the area in general and would suggest the beaches of Vietnam over Cambodia any day.

Good facilities, nice beach, excellent room. Stay in main hotel if you want to enjoy the hotel. Stay in Water Chalet if you want to enjoy the room. Little pricey but worth it. Do keep some time in your schedule to enjoy the hotel, the spa, the beach, the pool.

Room Tip: Ask for room on the beach side or water chalet.

We stayed at this Hotel in December 2013. We enjoyed out time here, quality rooms, quality resort. We enjoyed the beach, great weather and just wished we could stay a few more nights. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed breakfast inside rather than the mad dash in the open air breakfast area. The food on the deck restaurant was to a good standard, the food in the main restaurant maybe was not so great (not cooked).

The hotel was very nice, the best one around, we virtually had the place to ourselves other than 3 days over New Year's Eve, the beach and sea were stunning although very quiet but you have occhiteau and Otres beach am few Km away which has all the beach bars you could want, there are 2 lovely swimming pools, the service is excellent and the people are so friendly,we had 11 nights there and would recommend it however it can be a little pricey with $7 for a bottle of Evian an example. Sihanoukville is Thailand 30-40 years ago so get out there.

Room Tip: The main pool is the busiest but the lakeside rooms have their own very quiet pool with no more than...
