We stayed at Sokha Beach Resort for 3 nights and I am so glad we did!
Everything was great from the room we stayed in to the well looked after pools and clean & safe beach!
We loved the beach side although we noticed that other guest were claiming the chairs as early as 5:30-6am, put their towels down and would go eat breakfast until 10:30, meaning it was hard for us to get seats in the morning (7:30-8am) but we managed to find some a couple times thankfully with umbrellas! The staff are all very good, fast and nice! Breakfast was great and the cooks cooked a great omelette! The Deck for tapas and cocktails at happy hour was amazing!! We had such a great night watching the sunset and relaxing eating glorious food!
The hotel is indeed in need of abit of a renovation but I couldn't fault it for anything! Everything was perfect!
Best stay in sihanoukville!

The resort is a sprawling complex, but easily walkable (or you can call for a ride in a golf cart). My room was spacious and clean. The staff are very helpful (special mention to Julia, Piseth, Rachana, and Oukdom). However, it appears that the number of guests can at times overwhelm the staff. For example, at breakfast there are not enough staff to clear and re-set tables. I enjoyed the New Year's Eve buffet and entertainment (great music).

Unfortunately, the services and amenities do not match the price you pay to stay here. In my opinion, you would be better served staying at a more reasonably-priced establishment.

We decided to stay over Christmas in this resort over other smaller places in Sihanoukville because we thought it would make for an easy, relaxed holiday. Wrong! There were so many downsides to our stay, relaxed was what we were not.
I don't think I've ever reached such a level of stress and annoyance when checking into a hotel. The check-in process took over 50 minutes and the front desk staff did not have a clue what they were doing - something is seriously wrong in the system. A hotel that is built for 1000 guests should be able to handle them efficiently, even if it is Christmas. They tried to put us in a different room than we had specifically booked (a beach front villa) and it was obvious it had been double-booked to someone else. It took a lot of direct talking to get what we originally booked.
The villa was spacious and comfortable although starting to look a bit shabby and not equipped as well as many new 4* hotels.
In booking a package over Christmas through Agoda, we were forced to take the 'gala Christmas eve dinner' at $120 per couple, which was an outdoor buffet with entertainment. Again, poorly managed, with drinks running out and much of the food cold. It was terrible to be forced to pay for it and then it turned out to be so dire.
On the plus side, the beach is very clean and there are no hawkers and urchins to bother you, and the pool/beach staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall, a bad and expensive mistake, and very impersonal.

Room Tip: Beach front villas are big and spacious but they are still 80m from the beach, so not really 'be...

We have read all the good reviews about this hotel and after decided to stay there.
I have no idea who wrote all this feedbacks. It looks like ppl do not expect even 4* hotel when they pay for 5*.
Hotel is old. Our room was dirty, shabby and bathroom with mold. Furnitures is very shabby! Dirty curtains and walls! You can see it on the photos. Lights is not strong enough, its quite dark at night even if you turn on all lights in the room.
Extremely slow internet. How it possible to have so slow wi-fi in such hotel?
They provide cheap shampoo and bath gel.
Breakfast was ok but i wasnt impressed at all.
Definitely hotel is overpriced!
Only the good thing is the beach. Very clean and nice sand. But btw its possible to go there even without stay in this hotel.
First we booked sea view room. You must know its so far from the lobby (about 800m) that you are not able to walk in such hot weather and everytime if you want to go out or to have breakfast you need to call to reception and they will drive you on golf-car. And when we came to room there was only tennis court view and small peace of the sea. So, we push them to change to room near main pool.
We won't come back. This hotel needs total renovation.

It is a huge, humongous property that can host about a thousand guests at a time. It is colossal and impersonal. Everywhere one looks, sees truckloads of people. More than a hotel, it seems like a big community establishment with rooms lined up somewhat monotonously.

While the hotel is impeccably located boasting a private beach, service is a glaring exception. Meal vouchers (to be obtained from the front desk) are asked for during breakfast. One is required to keep some extra amount, in addition to the room tariff, deposited at the time of check-in if paid in advance by cash, else the credit card is swiped as a safeguard which made us wonder if thugs and cheats frequent this hotel often.

Wi-fi is not available half the time. One issue that particularly bothered us is the issue of water. Only two 500 ml bottles of water are provided in the room per day and the water supplied through pipe is not potable which forces one to buy water from the hotel at higher price. We found thus quite unacceptable as far as water is concerned.

Staff are not very polite that borderlines on being rude at times. One would feel like they are doing a favour by letting one stay!

Of course, one gets access to a nice private beach, gym, swimming pool and all that comes in a big hotel. The beach, about 750 meters long, is very nicely maintained with few bars on the beach. Swimming pool is quite good with nice, clean and crispy water. The bar at the pool is a nicely done one.

In a nutshell, the hotel is somewhat okay if you are visiting in a big group. But this is definitely not the place if one is looking for a quiet cozy place with some personal touch.

Having read all the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to dine at the Deck Tapas/Lemongrass restaurant at the resort. We chose to sit indoors given all the mosquitos outside. Midway through our meal I happened to glance at the other side of the dining room only to see a rat scurrying past the kitchen on the floor and disappear into the bamboo screen on the opposite side. Needless to say we lost our appetite for the night!

We loved this hotel!

We stayed at this hotel recently for 8 nights and boy were we impressed. Not only does it feel like a 5 star hotel - it feels like a small town with areas that you can escape and relax.

Firstly there is a private beach where you can escape the people trying to sell you things.. Secondly there are so many different options for dining, the service is incredible, staff always assisting you if you need anything extra which hasn't already been provided.

The golf carts that take you to and from your room is an example of great service and the staff are lovely!

There is an amazing casino at this resort (if you like that sort of thing), two pools which are not crowded plus you have the beach option (which is located perfectly for the sunset) and the fitness centre is insane! We have stayed at many hotels and have travelled quite a bit and boy this fitness centre is rated 110%!

We stayed in the lake side deluxe and the rooms were a great sized! Even better the bed was huge, more like two king single beds together or quite possibly bigger! The room service is fast and the food is great! The bathroom is large with a great sized bath! The room was always cleaned to perfection by the cleaners!

We were on our honeymoon and we were treated like royalty! I would like to make a special mention to the staff there who not only do we hope to be in touch with again but they are the people who make us want to go back to this hotel (besides the amazing amenities) - Mey Chamroeum, his brother Odahm (I don't know the correct spelling) and Mr Rachana. These employees went out of their way to make us feel even more special while staying at Sokha beach! They are very hard workers and provided us with great service without any hesitation - we appreciate their kindness to us and if you are staying at this hotel be sure to say hello to them!
