“For serious and novice fishermen”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

We had a great day out on the water. Fish plentiful even though not a great size. The deckhands are available to bait your hooks and take your fish off if you are lucky to catch them. As a parent I felt safety could be an issue- did not see any life jackets and were not given any instructions on what to do in an emergency. Lunch was a lovely hot stew with bread, however some snacks to purchase on board would have been great. Saw some lovely islands offshore and the water was clean and clear when we anchored for lunch and a swim,. A good value day out with all bait and tackle supplied.

“Overcharged for a meal !”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

This Sunday was the third time I had been in the Fisherman's Den.

The advertisement board outside told of Sunday Roast - chicken/lamb - $5.25.
So I chose the lamb, it was a fine roast dinner, however, when I came to pay. I was charged $6.50.
I now discovered the lamb was more than the chicken, even though the advertisement mentioned nothing of a price difference.

I am afraid I cannot return after this.

Businesses cannot advertise items at a said price, then charge more.
An oversight? Yes, but I still had to pay the higher price.

A great shame as the food is good and the prices are not high.

“So Good We Went Twice!”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

As the previous reviewer stated, $35 for a full day of fishing, plenty caught although nothing huge, lots of coral cod and one fella caught a Moray Eel.

Lunch was included, a very meaty beef stew of which you could get as many helpings as you like.

You also received a catch of the day dinner back at Brian's (the skipper) bar after returning to shore, again plenty of food.

All in all a great day of beers, swapping stories and fishing.

Also has accommodation which we only found out towards the back end of our time in Snookie, we still managed to get a good few nights in there. Cheap and big rooms.

Well recommended!

PS went on both trips with the wife so the fact they have the only fishing boat with a western toilet on it helps sell it to the ladies!!!

“Brilliant day out!!!”
Reviewed March 28, 2012

We didn't arrive in Snooky looking for a fishing charter but when we saw a guidebook make mention of Fisherman's Den we headed up to the bar to check it out.

$35 for a full day deep sea fishing, lunch provided, snorkeling of the islands & dinner back at Fisherman's Den was enough for us to jump at the idea!

We set off to Koh Rong Samloem which is one of the bigger islands, and a 2hr trip. We trawled out the back of the boat on the way there with some of the biggest lures you could find. We were targeting anything big, but main catches in the area were barracuda. Unfortunately we didn't get anything but the scenery more than made up for it.

We had a couple of hrs fishing off the boat in about 100ft of water where we reeled in fish after fish. Many of them were small, but it was more than enough to keep us entertained.

Lunch was on the boat just off the island where we also snorkelled & through ourselves off the boat into our own little bay in the bluest of blue waters. It was amazing & lunch was a great big hearty dish which was delicious.

We continued to catch fish throwing the lines off the boat but didn't catch any big fellas!

Brian (the captain) as well as his 2 Cambodian crew were very entertaining & I would head back out again just to hear some of Brian's stories.

The day was a memorable one, and the dinner afterwards was sensational. I really cannot fault the day even though we didn't catch a big barra!! Maybe next time.
