“small portions and overpriced, food just okay”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

I was drawn in by the fancy menu and hip atmosphere. But for the prices, the food and portions just were not up to par with so many other offerings in Sihaoukville. Good if you're truly craving Mexican, otherwise avoid. Not open for lunch. Bar is overpriced as well.

“Great staff”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Maybe Later is a great bar in Sihanoukville with Mexican food. The staff are American and very friendly and the atmosphere is cool. Everywhere else has khmer staff and you can not really have a conversation with them. The nachos are good and the salsa is nice and spicy! I have been here several times now and will go back next time I am in Sihanoukville for sure!

“Maybe Later Definatly Never”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

After several months of Asian cuisine I thought Mexican would make a pleasant change, especially as I had stopped by a few days earlier for a drink and had found the American  staff affable.

Myself and two friends each ordered the Chicken Burrito, After a  lengthy wait our order honed into view, a disturbing lone "sanitary"  offering each on two large plates, why?

An absolute abomination of a meal   : A cold tortilla wrapped around a a sprinkling of rice, some string masquerading as chicken no refried beans  ( they'd obviously run out) no guacamole and raw onion, the final insult was the disgraceful melted Kraft slices it was topped off with.

The only plus was the Salsa on the side which was very good, so cant imagine what was going on in the kitchen?

Having lived and worked in the States for many years where service is king, until you complain; I was still taken back with the look I was given after I pointed out that this was an extremely below average effort, something akin to if I'd just  propositioned an elderly relative !

Needless to say no recompense
was forth coming so $5 for the above really isn't on.

After reading other reviews I can only assume that on our visit they were having an off day, still a poor excuse for anyone  charging to cook food..

Then again if the talking point of your review is a toilet covered in pictures of Sly Stallone its does make you wonder ........"it's all over Rocky"

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Maybe Later. We appreciate all customer input in order to elevate the customer experience for everyone.

Being a small operation where all direct customer interaction is provided by English-speaking American staff with a combined 30+ years experience in the service and hospitality industry, if one customer were to have an issue with any aspect of our service from the food, drink or ticket times, rest assured that everyone working knows about it, and is on the case to do whatever it takes to make things right for you. Since receiving this review, nobody can remember any guest making a complaint about one of our chicken burritos. This leads us to believe that no complaint was ever lodged, and ergo, no “look” was given upon said addressment of the issue.

Unless, you were the individual who was escorting a “lady of the night” and ate only half your burrito? If so, no grievance was made even after management stopped by your table to ask if everything was OK and if you needed anything else.

If you waited awhile for your food, chances are the place was packed. There’s only so much that can come out of a 5 square-meter kitchen manned by two hard working Khmer girls.

To clarify the double-plate paradox: our chicken burritos are baked with the sour cream and cheese melted on top - ovens are hot - so the plate is very hot coming out. The extra plate is so our server (and the customer) do not have to grab a scalding hot plate. With this in mind, the “cold tortilla” argument is automatically invalidated.

Our menu clearly states that the chicken burrito comes with rice. The beef burrito comes with beans. If you wanted a side of beans, all you had to do was ask- it is listed under Sides. While we try our best to keep the out of season and imported avocados stocked and ripe for fresh guacamole every day- sometimes nature wins. Guacamole is listed on the menu as *when available.

As for the “kraft cheese” claim, and by Kraft, we assume you mean processed cheese slices. We use real shredded cheddar cheese - the former would cost twice as much as our already expensive imported sharp white cheddar cheese.

It’s unfortunate that some customers would rather write off an entire dining experience and post malicious lies rather than simply bring up any issues at the time, when our staff could have happily obliged most requests.

We encourage you to stop back anytime, with appropriate company, and try another item off our menu that might be more to your tastes.

Best regards and safe travels.
