“A fantastic stay! Would recommend it to anybody”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

We stayed at the Victory Beach Hotel 2 adult and 2 children (5 and 3 years) for 3 nights in january 2012 (Chinese new-year holiday). It was a fantastic stay and extremely good value for money! We enjoyed it a lot and would recommend it to anybody (except those wanting massive action around the corner and a lot of noise)

The beach outside is not perfect but it is nice to have and the children (and the parents!) enjoyed it a lot for playing. For us it was a special feature that the restaurant and the water is separated by a small wall. During the day you just jump over it get to the beach and water but when eating outside in the restaurant the 3 meter sand between the restaurant and the wall becomes a fantastic playground with makes it possible to enjoy the rest of the wine viewing the sun down while the kids are playing…
For swimming and sun tanning a much better beach is located only 10 min. walk away with sun beds, sun umbrellas and nice beach cafés with very nice food (turn right at “the white rabbit”). This beach is nice and quiet without too many people and without all the annoying hectic which can be found in Sihanoukville.

The hotel is very nice. Nice staff which is helpful and friendly. There is no elevator but I guess not many people needs it and the staff is helpful to carry all the luggage up the stairs. The first night we had a normal room which was fine. The last two nights we had the family suites. If you are a family or just like space and view – these rooms are incredible! Huge room with direct view of the sun down from wall to wall. Effective air-con.

The restaurant is also something special. Not one of those standard medium ok ones with mediocore food. Fantastic food with good variety and very tasty and very nice wines – all to affordable prices. We like delicate food and wanted to try some of the other local restaurants, but ended up eating in the hotel restaurant all evenings as all the different food showed to be fantastic. E.g. the kids meal are made from fresh ingredients and not like many other restaurant where it is some processed chicken nugget. The breakfast is fine and it was nice to be able to get a real cup of quality coffee.

The service at the Hotel is fantastic. A many other Tripadvisor contributors mention we also salute Vivi and her all-in friendliness. But the rest of the staff is also nice.

The hotel is situated around 15-20 min with tuk-tuk from Sihanoukville. We only went there for a short stop. 40 min drive from the hotel is small but nice water fall which is an attraction for the locals. We thought it was a great spot to see. If you are going to Siam Reap it is worth mentioning that a direct flight (45 min) from Sihanoukville to Siam Reap is available. It only takes ~15 from the hotel to the airport.

The hotel was newly re-opened when we were there and yes it could be seen in a room next to the reception that they were renovating a little. But this did in no way disturb our stay as the work was hidden.

All in all a fantastic stay. We stayed there 3 nights, had breakfast and dinner (incl. wine) at the hotel all days, stayed 2 of the night in the huge suite and ended up paying ~370 USD. A bargain!!

Victory Beach Hotel "on the beach" has a location that cannot be surpassed. I have not stayed at the hotel but friends have and have given it the thumbs up. However I am a regular visitor to the restaurant on the terrace and the beach. The have a wonderful menu with outstanding value. They have my favourite beer Angkor on draught in ice cold glasses. The staff are wonderful with personal service that is genuine. Always a welcome with a smile. If you are coming to Sihanoukville you should chech it out either to stay or for food or both. You wont be dissappointed. By the way the owners are Verona and Douglas who also have The Coolabah hotel in Sihanoukville. They also go out of there way to ensure that guests havea great time.

For only a little more than the guest house costs in Sihanoukville, you can get a great and clean 2 star hotel on a quiet, romantic beach beach. Did not give 5 points only because there is no fridge.
But has an inhouse Casino, restaurant, a safety box and a great service, specially by Vivi at the front desk. Only 10 min to the center of the action by motorbike and 20 min to Ortiz beach, which can beat any Thai competition by its beach, tranquility and unseen prices.

Room Tip: On the second floor, rooms with sea view

If you were to do nothing else while in Cambodia I fully recommend you spend an afternoon at the victory beach hotel in Sihanoukville. Excellent food at a more than reasonable price, I personally recommend the ceasar salad. But the real event has to be sitting in the terrace with a happy hour cocktail watching the sun disappear into the sea. Only word that comes to mind is WOW. Friendly staff with perfect English make it a truely great experience

It is a little rough around the edges, but they are renovating and what they have completed so far is very swish. The mini suite was massive and definitely worth the extra. The staff were efficient. I was only able to stay a couple of nights and would have loved to stay longer. A very relaxing time.

Despite the ongoing construction, this hotel was usually beautifully quiet and has great views from the terrace and excellent mini-suite that we've just ckecked out of. The staff are friendly, and every time we ordered food, the order was checked by a western member of staff, so we never once received the wrong meal.

If you are looking for a hotel where all the action is, then this is not the the place. It is however s wondful hotel if you want a more quiet place to hang out. Perfect as a starting point for trips, or just to hang out and read. Enjoy a frappe or mango shake ( or indeed a whole meal from their great kitchen) at the very edge of the water, and take a tuk tuk ($4-5) into town to get a wider selection of drink and food.

Excellent and pleasant staff! The rooms are reasonably priced, charming and clean, although the hotel does show its age. There is renovations going on, which may be noisy in the mornings (as per febuary 2012).

The beach is not as beautiful and empty as otres, but pretty close. Depending on the wind there may be trash floating in from the other beatches, but usually the waters are grest for swimming.

Again, the staff is super, although unless you are very particular about your eggs in the morning, try ordering them fried over eady - you will get a different egg every day :D

Room Tip: If you are looking for a standard room with a balcony, ask for one facing the same direction as the...
