A great little hotel with nice clean rooms and a tasty restaurant. The hotel is a bit more expensive but the service was great. The rooms were well equipped with a TV, fridge, AC, and the like. We felt very comfortable there but unfortunately the city was not so good.

I've lived in Sihanoukville for 5 years. The Small Hotel was one of the best in the city then and remains one of the best in this fast growing town. The owner contributes to the local community in a variety of positive ways, the staff is experienced and friendly and the food is great. Although downtown is no longer the tourism centre of Sihanoukville, the Small Hotel continues to attract guests because of its great reputation. When you get there, ask about the new Small Beach Bar at Independence Beach. Same great food and service, but right on the beach.

Also , there were a few small things in the room that needed cleaning or replacing, so it was not "spotless" as described by LP.

Staff were very helpful with tours, bus tickets etc.

Breakfast was not included. Definitely visit The starfish cafe if you stay here.

We stayed just one night in Sihanoukville, but received the best of service whilst staying here. The food was good, and the service from everyone was very good!
Free Internet makes everything easier, and in the evening we sat in the bar listening to stories from the owner and his friends, learning some important words in Khmer and had a great time.
The receptionist helped us book a bus over to Vietnam as well, and they spoke English very well. Also, she came running out when we were leaving to make sure we remembered our passports that we had in the safe.

The room was ok, not the biggest room or the most comfy beds, but all in all good value for money.

We arrived here very late on a Wednesday evening after our bus been delayed and the town had endured a big storm. The staff showed me a charming little room and we decided to stay the night. Everyone was so friendly on arrival and the hotel had a little bar so we did not have to go out looking for a quiet pint after such a long day. We knew we would be happy here.!

When we arrived, we had not eaten all day after spending 12 hours on a bus but the owner, Henrik, was happy to open the kitchen for us at 10.30pm so we could have a proper meal, which was delicious. He also switched on some Irish tunes at the bar to make us feel welcome. After dinner we joined the other guests at the bar and found how much of a character, Henrik is and had a great night.

We ended up staying three nights at the hotel and would have stayed more if our schedule had of permitted. We organised everything through them, bus to Kampot, moto hire for the two days which were their own bikes in very good condition (we have had a few ropey experiences elsewhere). We also ate here every day and the food was always great. They just put everything on our tab so we could sit back and relax during our stay. The hotel also has free wifi and two friendly dogs to keep you entertained. The hotel was extremely clean and the rooms were made up everyday with fresh towels and sheets.

The real gem of this place is the staff. 100% professional but able to have a laugh with the guests at the same time. They all like to have a chat at the bar and we got to meet some really nice people. This was definitely our favourite place in Cambodia and would recommend to anyone. It really made our stay in Sihanoukville. Mom and Henrik are the perfect hosts and have a great team. Them and the staff even came out to the door to wave of goodbye to us when we were leaving for Kampot.

Skip staying at one of the generic resorts at the beach and stay here and feel like one of the family in this fantastic hotel. Can't say enough good things.
