Ochheuteal Beach

Nice White sand beach
JUST COVERED IN RUBBISH
Night time dinner on the beach is nice
cocktails and snuggling up with your girl while watching the stars and endless fireworks
I had a very good cocktail at one of the bars fronting the beach
Its worth a stroll

I enjoy Ochheuteal Beach because you able to talk to real Cambodian people. I recommend Kaya' s shack as the place to stop as their food is tasty, well presented and good quality. they will also serve your beer in a small pot of ice which ensures it is always icy cold. Beach remains untidy at times although the local publicans are contributing to clean up staff. Cambodia is just beginning it's long walk to catch up with other countries " rubbish collection" .
Lolabouts to lay on during the day with an umbrella provided and papasan chairs for the evening. A polite but firm "no thankyou" repeated and repeated should keep the hawkers at bay. Please do not buy trinkets off the children, it encourages them to stay on the beach until very late at night and they are at risk and don't make it to School next day

My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed playing in the sand and surf. At times it got crowded with the back packer crowd but a 10 second rain shower took care of that. It was very convenient to our hotel which I liked but if you have a half day or more to spend at the beach, renting motor scooters or taking a tuk tuk to Otres Beach is worth-while. If you are only going for an hour or two, then this beach is fine.

Why this beach still attracts tourists and locals alike makes me scratch my head real hard.

This beach is polluted to the brim. Yellowish dark green waste material just flows straight into the sea through a tube and it was really disgusting. Trash and rubbish float on the water and the water is so dirty I can't even see the sand beneath the water

Sihanoukville is known for being Cambodia's most popular beach, and it was so polluted I wouldn't even classify it safe for swimming.

Please do something about it.

The beach is great for a swim but the relaxation was hampered by a regular procession of locals selling everything to you constantly! Manicures, pedicures, massage, kids (who were not well behaved), food of every type... badgering you every five minutes (not joking). It got too much!!!
