“If you want peace and quiet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

We stayed here 2 nights in August. We needed to go to Sihanoukville but we hate crowds and loud areas. We didn't want to be amongst the backpapers partying all night. If you stay anywhere near Serendipity beach that is all you will get. This place is awesome! It is isolated on a hill and tuk tuk drivers have a hard time getting there so get a taxi if possible. It is a 10 min drive to seredipity so bit of a hassle if you really want to be at the beach. We didn't so it was perfect.

We made a reservation and arrived by Bus from Phnom Penh (6$ but took 5-6 hours when taxi is about 3.5 hours and 50USD). We arrived at the bus yard and surrounded by tuk tuk drivers that wanted to charge us 6USD to get to the hotel. (Most don't know the hotel so you ask to be taken to the Wat Leu the temple next door). However, the after a few minutes the driver from the hotel came to the bus with a sign with our name on it. It was a free pick-up and we didn't even know! (we had arranged hotel through another hotel in Phnom Penh so they must have told them what bus we were on- EXCELLENT)

Food is reasonably priced and relaxing atmosphere. Wifi and Breakfast ( from a set menu with eggs to pancakes to local food) is included in priced. Off season price is 45USD. Pool is an infinity pool overlooking the seaport. Bungalows are small but nice. Have AC and mosquito nets. If you have a hard time with stairs getting to the bungalows may be an issue especially when rainy and wet. Not far just need to be able to climb 2 -3 small flights. These bungalows are in nature so if you don't like bugs or are afraid of them this place won't make you happy.

The front staff are aplenty- almost too many. English is limited except for a few staff. But very helpful and extremely polite. Almost too polite as our car was ready but we were talking with other guests killing time waiting for the car but they didn't want to interrupt our conversation to let us know the car was ready. It was sweet how polite they are.

They can arrange local tours or travel, taxis etc at the front desk.

All in all a great stay!

Coconut/pumpkin soup is a MUST try!!

Room Tip: All Bungalows are down a few steps. If you have limited mobility get teh closest bungalow to the res...

This is an amazing hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and courteous. Gorgeous hotel sitting atop the hillside looking over Sihanoukville's port. Location is excellent in that the views are outstanding, the hotel is far from Sihanoukville's centre though the hotel caters for this with a hotel minibus. If coming on a bus to Sihanoukville it's possible to get off near Wat Leu next to the hotel on the way into Sihanoukville. Rooms are located in gorgeous cabins which with beautiful furniture. Pool area is also gorgeous, bathrooms are slighlty below standard of rest of hotel. Breakfast was also outstanding and prepared early to meet our needs. Great hotel.

Anywhere else in the world and Pagoda Rocks would cost ten times more. It's absolutely beautiful, nestled on top of the hill overlooking the sea. The bungalows are luxurious, the pool is stunning and the staff are lovely.

You do need to be ready for the location, it is a long way from town and tuk tuk drivers don't like doing the hill. But if you're looking for peace and quiet it's perfect.

If you are looking for a lovely little hotel, with infinity pool overlooking the hills away from Sihanoukville you should really stay here!
incredible room!!!! with private balcony, lovely service, good food!
tuktuk 3.5$ to town and always the hotel can arrange it very quickly or you get a motor bike for 4$/day and takes five minutes.
Also the call in massage was amazing.
overall great value for money, but maybe more for people looking for tranquility than party late night!

Our journey to the hotel wasn't idea as tuk-tuks really struggle to get up the hill and then have to drop you at the end of the drive as it is too steep for them to go down (and get back up again) so make sure you opt for a taxi.

We were greeted very warmly on arrival and taken to our room. It was late (approx 8.30pm) and very dark. The room was a good size, and the bathroom very basic. The first thing that we spotted was an ENORMOUS spider just by the bed. This is to be expected in a room in a jungle surrounding, but still took us by surprise! The bathroom appeared clean but there was a rather large black hair stuck in the soap which then made you question how clean everything else actually was.

We seemed to be the only people at the hotel and were the only ones at dinner. There was a large pizza menu, but after ordering we were told that the pizza oven was broken! The food was pretty average and the main courses were served before the starters! It was all slightly chaotic, but the staff were very nice and friendly. I would however agree with the comment about feeling watched.

On departure, the driver took us to the port to catch a boat to an island, but the driver took us to the wrong pier which meant that we were late for our crossing, but thankfully they waited for us otherwise we would have been in big trouble.

Enjoyable 2 night stay, staff were nice and so were the rooms. Food also nice weather was rubbish and meant there was very little to do as located out of town. Would be perfect for lazing by the pool and hiring bikes if weather good. Value for money? Would suggest hotel reduces rates in rainy season.

Big Smell of humiditidy in rooms, Site not well maintained: pool furnitures Dirty and Rotten by humidity; Bad value for money, name of "boutique" does not suit this place. Owner and family not friendly, live there and are at home. Far from everything, no motorbike renting possibility.
The only good point is the nice view from hotel.

Room Tip: Dont stay there
