Don't even consider this dirty, poorly run place. It is truly awful. We were booked for 4 nights but left after one night. Though they claim the bungalows overlook the beach - there is no beach there. The beach you see in the photo is around the bay !!
Getting into your treehouse bungalow is no easy task You have to walk up at least 50 uneven, stone stairs. Anyone over 40 simply should not be here (myself included) The bathroom is unspeakably filfthy. It is a very poorly run operation.
In fact if Sihanoukville is on your itinerary, I suggest you cross it off. The whole town is a mess, the beach is overrun with people trying to sell you everything. The big draw are the young, native girls...you'll see many of them with older men.
As one Australian woman told us, they should rename the town "sleezeville."

I stayed at the Cloud9 Bungalows this past September and found it so nice there. The room was clean, it offered great views of sea, the food was delicous, and the staff very helpful. Anything I needed to make my stay in Sihanoukville more enjoyable was either offered to me...or, I was pointed in the right direction. Cloud9 sits at the end of a small peninsula and the volcanic rock formations make it so beautiful, especially when the tide is coming in and slapping up against the rocks. At night, with the tables along the sea lit with candles, a great meal in front of me and a drink from the bar......life couldn't get much better. I was also fortunate enough to get a break in the weather and make it out to the islands on Joe's boat, the PRETEMAMA. If any travellers out there want a unique experience in southern Cambodia....Sihanoukville, then book a room at the CLOUD9....and unwind. Joe also has a fantastic collection of music he plays at the bar.....from classical, old rock, reggae, chill-out...he has it all. I plan on returning to Sihanoukville in November so please have my room ready. RAY ZIMMERMAN, USA

For $10 we had our own treehouse bungalow with a balcony that looked out over the ocean. Which is pretty amazing! Anyone expecting 'daily cleaning services' as below probably needs to be staying in a hotel, which Cloud 9 is not. Our lovely treehouse had its own bathroom and mosquito net, everything needed. Its not on the main thoroughfare, which means its quiet and chilled out... but still met several lovely people to play cards and have a drink with. Fantastic value for money, with great view and just a couple of minutes from the beach - if you go to Sihanoukville, stay here.

Stayed 2 nights, would have stayed longer but I didn't have a reservation and they were full, clean nice bungalows. Be sure and go out with Joe the owner on his boat for a relaxing day. He has great stories. There location is good because it's at the end of the bungalows in serendipity beach and the hawkers don't come that far down the beach that often. His staff is all young cambodian guys and girls and are really great people. Take care

My husband and I stayed at Cloud9 and had a great time relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We've visited Asia many times and we like touring around during the day but appreciate being away from crowds at night so Cloud9 was perfect for us. The food was lovely (try the smoothies, Tom Yum and Lok Luk)!

We had a good ocean view from the balcony of our bungalow and beside us was natural vegetation because cloud9 is the last place along Serendipity Beach. The headland is an eco-reserve area with no development on it.

One of the owners has a large boat which he takes around the islands. This was probably the best day of our holiday, swimming, snorkeling and fishing (I'm usually a bit nervous about snorkeling but everyone else on board encouraged me to get in). We caught a fish and were allowed to take it back for dinner which was a nice touch (thanks to the girls in the kitchen).

At the time our bungalow cost $40 per night - I agree they are basic but it was cleaned every second day and we were happy with it. Could we have got something a little cheaper - probably - but as it is small and quieter than some of the other places we saw so you could almost classify it as a "boutique" place.

If you're looking for somewhere which is right on the waters edge, has friendly staff (thanks Sir Paul and Srey Nerin), lovely food and is just a nice simple place to stay and relax, then Cloud9 is what you are looking for.

We had an absoutely fab time at Cloud9. We spent 10 days enjoying ourselves without much leaving the place. Cloud9 is not a large place with only 7 bungalows but we hung around swimming, snorkling, sun-bathing and generally relaxing and taking it easy. Sometimes a great playlist of classical music was played first thing in the morning and we stayed behind to eat and enjoy the music. It's a treat seeing the happy, smiling Imke down at night keeping us amused. The staff are great, helpful and friendly and a source of entertainment at night. Our bungalow was cleaned every second day and new linen was also given. The bungalow was basic but had everything we needed and it was set in landscaped gardens and that is what gives this place its appeal. We also went on a fun day out cruise on the owners boat, "PreteMama", That was awesome. We cruised the islands for a day and did what we wanted. My wife caught a fish, which we ate. The best fish we ever eaten. We had a great holiday and really enjoyed our stay at Cloud9. We will stay there for 2 weeks holiday next year.

We stayed here over the Chinese NY period. This may reflect why i suggest Cloud 9 was overpriced at 30USD.

The bungalows are very very simple and are becoming rundown. There was no daily cleaning / service of the rooms. The rooms have a large bed with mosquito net, a simple bathroom, a good size balcony and a box that acts as a safe.

The location is great and it is extremely quiet. The reception / restaurant area is good, serving standard food for the beach area. Water is free, as well is wifi access around the reception area. You need to walk back to the beach area or neighboring resorts for beach access.
