Its a nice little hotel right in the heart of Sihnoukville, 5 mins walk to some nice cafe's and the beach. The staff are super friendly, the hostess was great, the food is good and I'd happily stay again.
We had a problem with a taxi when we were leaving and the hotel staff sorted it out for us right away, no fuss, no bother.
Thanks guys!

After five nights in Sihanoukville I honestly think Coolabah is probably one of the nicest hotels in the area. That does not make this is nice hotel. The day we checked in the manager took us up to our room (the suite) and realized that it was not very clean. There was dust all over the tables and dirt on the floor. He said he was very sorry and sent the cleaning crew up immediately. Their solution was to spray flower smelling air freshener all over our room. The door to our room was a sliding glass door that did not close all the way. We would wake up and find a bunch of dead bugs all over the floor on the inside of the door. Who knows what else got in our room that we didn't see. I think the beds at this hotel were the worst I have ever slept on. It was so hard it was difficult to sleep. The restaurant at the hotel gets really good reviews and the food is probably pretty good. Unfortunately the constant smell of warm garbage goes through the dining room all day. On a positive note the location cannot be beat. The hotel is on the quiet street and is really close to the beach and a ton of restaurants and bars.

Coolabah seems to be a place to socialize. We noticed that most of the people staying here were older and they never seemed to leave! As we walked through the lobby area we would see the same people sitting at the tables or near the pool all day. If you really want to see the beaches and culture of southern Cambodia then this hotel is one of your best options. The rest of the hotels in the area really are backpacker type hostels. Coolabah is a step up from that.

We liked this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable but some fixtures in the bathroom are looking a little tired or needed a very deep clean, but the shower had good pressure. It's relatively quiet, we weren't disturbed. Restaurant downstairs is great, really nice western food and wine if you're bored of Cambodia food. If you want a quiet room don't book a poolside room, as it's literally next to the pool and edge of the restaurant

We stayed here for one night before travelling to Lazy Beach and one night on our return. The manager Danny was really helpful and personally went to the Lazy Beach office to confirm our booking a few weeks beforehand.
The rooms are large, airy and very clean - worth paying a bit extra for one of the rooms on the higher floors.
We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked packed everynight so I assume the food is pretty good!
Location wise it's the perfect distance from the main strip - far enough away to be quiet and relaxing but close enough to be able to wander down in a few minutes.

We booked the suite, which is the only one, as it consists of a living room, with sofas, tv a small kitchen area, and a bedroom at the back, which was very quiet and no outside noise at all. The bathroom was large and clean, although only cold water in the sink. A few problems with the room were sorted out in minutes, without any fuss. Danny and the owners gave lots of helpful advice, and any arrangements were dealt with straight away.
The food at the restaurant was very good, and choice of wines, but after the 1st week, due to the chef leaving, the published menu on the website was reduced by half, but hopefully on the next visit will be bigger, as till then it was the best food and service in the area.
