“Not worth finding”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

This is a very bizarre place and I cannot understand why our guide book recommended it. First off its a bit of a way out of central Sihanoukville and the tuk-tuks try to rip you off to get there and back. When you do arrive it appears nobody cares as there is no-one around to greet you. The food is ok but way overpriced for what you get. Plus our order arrived wrong and all the waiter could do was shrug his shoulders. We asked to speak to the manager who was an arrogant French man and he didn't seem to care either. Avoid Chez Claude, much better places in central Sihanoukville.

“hilltop restaurant and B&B”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

lovely people, delicious food, needs decorating a bit more and arrival space weird and sad although the funicular trip up pulled by a tractor is mad and fun if not scary as wires look rusty!

“eerie and expensive”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

Expect a long trip from town to get there, not suggested at night if you are on a rented motorbike, as the road is poorly lit and , as everywhere in Cambodia in poorly lit areas, it can be dangerous. Better to take a tuk-tuk.
When you arrive at the place, expect to find nobody to welcome you. Once you get noticed by somebody ( it can be a matter of several minutes) you are brought somehow ( once they used a kind of funicular, now rusty) on top of the hill, inside the french restaurant, where most likely you will be the only guest.
You might like the food there, but expect your bill to be absurdly high compared by the town's standards.

“Marked as terrible.”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

Our experience at Claude's was all good, but I am now laying in my hotel bed with terrible food poisoning. I have been vomiting and with diarrhea since 4am and it is still not over at 2pm. I wonder if it was a prawn? I have eaten at street stalls and cheap restaurants and have been fine.

“Great seafood, beautiful view, a little adventure”
Reviewed January 13, 2012

Went in the evening and the view of the twinkling fishermen's boats on the water is fantastic. We each had seafood and it was fantastic. I had the scallops which came served with a butter with shallots and garlic sauce. Garlic was strong but I love garlic and the scallops were prepared beautifully so it was delicious. My husband had a clay pot fish stew (Diep something prepared in the city style I think). This was heavenly. The base for the soup was flavorful and creamy and the fish and vegetables were a perfect consistency and taste. Highly recommend for the seafood as well as the view and the little adventure it is to get there.
