“If you like being pestered, this is the place for you”
Review of Serendipity Beach

Serendipity Beach

The beach itself is perfectly pleasant. The problem is that you can't walk even five steps without repeatedly being asked to come into a restaurant, get your feet massaged, buy sunglasses (which is fun when you are already wearing a pair) or sit on one of the hundreds of beach chairs, each attached to an establishment.

The fact is there is no beach that isn't "owned" by one of the dozens of places by the water so if you are going to go you have no choice but to pay for chairs. Granted, there are not expensive, but that doesn't stop the constant pestering. It's worse than the tuk tuk and moto drivers who won't leave you alone in the street, if that gives you a guide as to the annoyance factor.

Brilliant location and lower surf than Ortres beach. Good for partying and cheap food during the day. Only downside is the relentless hawkers that will plague you during the day. My advice? Get your toenails and a massage done on day one and you will not get bothered again! :)

Stunning beach beautiful view, clean water, lots of bars boat trips real eye candy and very relaxing, locals are friendly. The beach with an ambience all it's own. It is right in the center of things. I liked the many beachfront food choices available... This beach also really comes alive at night! Good location for the meditators among us

If you can't be bothered heading out to otres, where the beach is better, then this does well for a lunch time swim. I chose t eat in the main street, rather than the beach, as getting hassled by hawkers, beggars, maaassssaaaaage, just was too much here. Water is grotty with plastics. By all means, have a swim, coffee at noir. People watch. But do yourself a favour and hire a bike, and find other beaches.

This spot was just way too touristy for me and for my daughter....too many bars, too many older men with young women and just too crowded for my taste but the islands offshore were heaven!
