Review of Serendipity Beach

Serendipity Beach

Not much of a beach if you want to go swimming or sunbathing, but a quiet relaxed part of Sihanoukville with some nice cafes and restaurants.

It has everything from pumping music to chilled spots at the far end
$0.50 draught beer and great seafood
Massages not the beach for $6.00 and manicure and pedicure and nail varnish for $4
Ladies selling crayfish prawns scallops etc ... A very cool spot for a week

The beach is beautiful, rocky and little sand, but really picturesque with a selection of lovely restaurants and bars around.

If it wasn't for the hoardes of kids trying to agressively sell bracelets, fireworks, hats, massages and more - it'd much more enjoyable as a tourist,

The beach is pretty disgusting, with rubbish all over the sand and in the sea. The only type of people who seem to spend time here are the 'party' backpackers and unfortunately a lot of older men interested in younger children. I witnessed a lot of things that made me feel sick and uncomfortable on this beach. I will never ever come back to Serendipity or Occheuteal beach again.

If you do feel like you need some beach action while in Cambodia you're much better off heading to Otres beach (also part of Sihanoukville)-much cleaner, more laid back and far less offensive people.

Serendipity beach is full of beach bars and restaurants of varying quality. It's a fun place with plenty to do. The only downside is that there is an open sewage pipe that flows into the sea at irregular intervals. Yuck. If you don't like swimming in the sea this doesn't matter. If you're a normal human however, this is a bit horrible.
