Arrived without reservation and were very kindly shown the room. Good beds, clean and proper bathroom with hot shower.
Location is very close to the beach (bars) but you wont hear much noise from them when you want to sleep.
Mohachai is owned by a Dutch guy.
Definitely value for money.

Dutch owned and with very friendly staff this place is in a great location and exceptional value at 9 dollars for a superior room.

Has a cosy little bar at the front and is also adjacent to the Dive school. There are many many accommodation options around the area so it just depends on what you want to pay and what your expectations are.

The rooms are standard but on both occasions (stayed in different rooms also) we stayed the rooms are very clean for a $7 stay. Free wifi, pool table and travel advice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The bar is always full of characters which makes for good conversations. The food is average but not too pricey. Remenber you are rit in the thick of the bars and that so if you want quiet(er) ask to be right down the bottom of the garden. they do laundry also.
THE PRICE GOES UP BASED ON FESTIVE TIMES. We are staying over Khmer New Yr so paying $10 instead of $7. Bring yer water pistol if you're here over the new yr and be sure to drink some Black Panther stout, $1 and 8%.

Don't expect too much for $7, it's clean, friendly and in a great location.

My stay was spoiled by unfriendly, unhelpful Western staff, who seemed more interested in earning their sales commission than actually meeting basic expectations of customer service - or dare I say it, even - 'niceness'. Noisy and slightly seedy - especially the 'bar' area. Very disappointing :-(

If you want an honest review here is ours. unlike the one below who was probably one of the many guys sat at the bar drinking all day every day.

we also stayed during chinese new year as most places where full. we are budget travellers so try not to pay too much for accommodation but we found that most places when you ask how much they look at you think how much they can get from you and give you that figure.

This place charged us 15 dollars a night which is over double the guy belows 7 dollar valuation and to be fair this place isnt worth even 7 dollars.

The room we had was very basic, only a cold shower and in terms of cleanliness well the sheets where dirty and the floor still had the last persons recipts on it.

The bar area is very noisy at night, but i suppose if you like that scene then its ok.

we wouldnt stay here again. try ocean walk inn just up the road from here. chinese new year they still charged 15 dollars but the quality was more of a hotel.

The only plus was its location, 2 min walk down to sarendipity beach.

tip for travellers - sarendipity beach is a pub crawl beach and is designed for the drinkers out there. if this is for you then go ahead. if you like a relaxed feel where you can have a few drinks but not have people falling over you then try otres beach.

there is many beach bungalow accommodation here and we found it more reasonably priced.
