“so much fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014

Stumbled upon Kaz Winery just driving around trying to decide on wineries to taste at - we were turning around in the driveway to leave after seeing the 'closed' sign when Kaz came out and invited us to stay - we had a blast! Great wine, yummy hot sauce & fun conversation. Kaz is a blast and his wine outshines much of that at some of the other 'big-guy' wineries we stopped at. Definitely a must if you're looking for a fun afternoon of wine tasting!

“Loved it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

I overheard a tour guide at another winery mention this winery, if you want to visit a small family-owned winery and meet the winemaker. What interested me particularly was the idea of bottling, corking, and labeling my own wine bottles. A local publication listed it as an "artisan" winery. Very true. The experience was relaxing and very personal. There is nothing "commercial" about it.
His Lenoir wine and ports were my faves.

“A different kind of tasting room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

We were fortunate to meet Kaz and Dallas on our visit. While we didn't really care for any of the wines we did purchase the port. We were able to bottle and cork our own bottle. Kaz loves to talk about his wines and told us a great deal about grapes etc. Don't know that we will return but it is certainly a different experience and glad we stopped.

This is a MUST visit. Kaz is a most interesting guy and takes the time to visit and educate.
His hand crafted wines are very good.

“expect the unexpected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

This winery was on our list and it's around the corner off 12 so we blew right by it the first day but were sure to find it the next day. The tasting room is really small as is their production, in a good way. They don't do anything by "the book" but instead they just make amazing wines. The owner, Kaz, was there in the tasting room and he met with us and even let us bottle our own Port and signed the bottle. There was another employee there, Dallas, and he was an absolute hoot. I've never been to a less pretentious, more comfortable and laid back winery, and it was refreshing to say the least.
You have to stop at this place and learn about the labels, the meaning behind each picture on the bottle, and if you can, do one of the "you like it you bottle it" wines. Great souvenir. They were voted number two most entertaining winery and it's easy to see why.
