Hey all at the Kenwood, you know who you are, Karl Bruno GM, Katie the sexy beautiful wine bar tender and the Cindy the most personable waitress and the the chef, forgot his name because I was to busy eating the fresh banana breads and fresh squeezed orange juice and eating a customized breakfast the chef came to our table to explain. Cool guy!
As far as the resort goes, if do not rekindle your romance her with your loved one it's time to move on. This place knocked our socks off, litetrally! As soon as we checked into our plush room with a fireplace, hillside vineyard view, huge jacuzzi tub room we put our robs nd terry cloths slippers on and never took them off (except for an occational dip in the 80 degree pool.
There;s also a little grotto area if you can find it ; )/ (it's next to the gold fish pond) sweet!!!
The air is fresh with fruit trees, grapes, and bushes that smell like purfume as you walk by.
Were coming back to take Karl up on his promise to show us around town a little more in detail and were bring some friends.
Don't be frightened by the deer that like to pass by the property in the evening, super cool if you like wildlife. See ya soon.

Just got my post-checkout email, advising me that I could win a free overnight stay for the best Kenwood review on TripAdvisor...that may explain some of what I read prior to booking! While the grounds are truly gorgeous, the Inn is located on Sonoma Highway, separated only by the parking lot. The constant noise of trucks/cars barreling down the road kept us awake at night and certainly didn't make for the "peaceful hideaway" advertised on their website. Also, WIFI is only available in the outdoor courtyard and is quite unreliable.
It is a beautiful place, the massages were wonderful, breakfasts were hearty and the staff tried very hard to make our stay delightful. However, the location would probably prevent us from returning. For what we paid, we expected peace and quiet!

My partner and I needed a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. We picked a winner with the Kenwood Inn and Spa in Sonoma. A mid-week stay for a couple of nights found us away from it all. The property is stunning and the service is off the charts. On a Wednesday night Katie made us feel like we lived in a castle, a home away from home. She was everywhere.... pouring us beer at the bar, prepping our dinner and even answering the phones at the front desk. She attended our every need with the warmth and personality of a good ole' friend.

The entire staff was genuine and gracious. Our Thursday dinner was delivered to our room by the chef himself.

From this producer in Los Angeles... I give the Kenwood Inn and Spa a two thumbs up and look forward to going back with a group of friends!!!

The Kenwood Inn and Spa was recommended to us by a good friend as a great place for our honeymoon. We enjoyed the romantic privacy, the soaking tubs, the spa amenities, and the wonderful, caring and attentive staff. I especially want to give a warm "thank you" to the manager, Karl Bruno, who treated us just like old friends that he had known for years. It was the perfect romantic heneymoon experience.
Thank you and Bravo!!

We went to Sonoma for a wedding and decided to stay at the Kenwood Inn based on the bride's recommendation. We loved it! From the moment we arrived and saw the garden with its wide variety of flowers and plants, we fell in love with the property. The photos on the hotel's website do not do the property justice. There is a real coziness and charm to the property that makes you feel very comfortable and at home (but few of us have such a gorgeous garden). There was a fireplace in our room, which we really enjoyed in the evening. The least appealing part was our bathroom: very standard and basic, and probably can benefit from a brush up. However, all the amenities were there: shampoo, conditioner, facial cleaner, vanity kit, etc.

There was free WIFI around the pool area and I had no problems accessing it from our room either. However, some people weren't able to get on line, which meant they would use the computer at the reception area (free of charge).

The spa is very good and though they recommend that you book way in advance, it is not a problem to get an appointment when you arrive. There is also a free of charge steam room + jacuzzi, which you can use privately.

The daily breakfast served homemade granola, yogurts, pastries and a warm dish. Looked very promising but almost everything tasted quite bland. I think perhaps a bit more attention should be paid to improving the quality of this meal.

There are many vineyards nearby (Chateau St. Jean, Kunde, etc.) and the hotel also offers free wine tasting. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from Sonoma Valley Center. We had dinner at the El Dorado Kitchen, which boasted a nice atmosphere but the food was mediocre. Another recommendation was "The Girl and the Fig", but we didn't manage to try it. Like the previous reviewer said, the road is quite dark so a late drive can be challenging. A side note: there are cops everywhere in Sonoma, so don't even think about driving after you've had a few drinks.

Though steps from the road, it feels miles from anywhere. A Tuscan villa in the heart of Sonoma. Within the walls of the compound, there are pools, a spa, wine bar, and gourmet restaurant. The service is outstanding and the grounds impeccable. This is absolutely the best place to discover and re discover the wine country of Sonoma County

I just returned from my first trip to the Napa/Sonoma wine region of California, where my husband and I checked into the Kenwood for two nights to celebrate our 31st anniversary. What a delight for the sensuous side. Although it is located off a main road running through the valley, the Inn itself is hidden behind thick plaster walls dripping in verdant vines and other lush fauna. In fact, if you love overgrown gardens, then you will love this place. If the appearance of aging cracked walls, paint fading in the sun, water falling from spouts in hallways and a house made water mill, and romantic balconies along with oversized marble fireplaces and deep plush comfy down beds turn you on like they do me, then this is the place for you. Everything about it is intended to replicate a Tuscan villa and it does. There is also an area for "private" steaming and deep tissue soaks, as well as a full spa replete with high-end services including massages and a skin softening sugar scrub in which I indulged. Our room was number 3, which was upstairs overlooking the pool and gardens and very quiet from other guests. I highly recommend this Inn for a weekend or more. Only shortcoming is that it can be quite a drive from some of the better wineries and restaurants and since we are foodies that was a bit problematic. Driving back from Bottega (also a smash hit with us) at 11:30 p.m. in the dark for an hour was no fun!
