Coyote Telescope Rentals was by far one of our favorite activities in Joshua Tree National Park! Darryl and Leigh-Ann are super friendly and knowledgeable about the night sky, and their enthusiasm made the experience of trying out a manual telescope a wonderful one.

Our kids (ages 7, 5, and 3) felt excited and included in the rental process from start to finish. After picking out lanterns and star charts, they listened attentively to the different kinds of lenses we could use and about how to use the telescope itself.

When we returned to our campsite and set up the scope (actually much easier than we at first thought), we all felt thrilled to track onto some of the familiar sights in the sky, including the Moon, Mars, and Saturn. The suggestions we received about the best types of eyepieces and where to spot certain objects made all the difference. We felt like telescope pros by the end of the evening!

Stopping back and trying out a digital scope is definitely on our list of things to do before we leave Joshua Tree. Now that we have had a taste of astronomy, we are definitely hooked!

I moved to the desert in 1975 from Woodland Hills, CA and the Joshua Tree Monument (as it was called then) was a place that I visited often. It didn't matter what time of day or night that you ventured out to enjoy the natural beauty, the area offered endless beauty.

Now, for the national park adventurers, whether you're a local or farther afield, on the east side of Park Blvd, and directly across from the Joshua Tree National Park visitor's center, you'll be able to rent a telescope to view our sought after night skies. There's a menu of telescopes to rent, and the owners and their staff are extremely helpful to answer all your questions to ensure that your experience is memorable.

If you rent the manual telescope, they offer star charts to assist in identifying the universe. Or they have automated telescopes to track everything in the universe. We've picked out the telescope to rent and will secure the rental through their online booking feature.

During the day enjoy the unbelievable rock formations, desert wildlife and fauna and at night, bring the universe closer through a telescope at Coyote Telescope Rental. You'll have memories to last until your return visit. The desert does that...it calls you back.

My family is so excited to be one of the first customers to experience this AWESOME new business!! We have always loved stargazing, but these very reasonably priced telescope rentals let us get almost close enough to touch the moon and stars!! I cannot recommend Coyote Telescope Rentals enough for a small party, for homeschoolers, for families, for ANYONE!!! Not only are the telescopes top quality, but the owners are such cool, down to earth people! We will definitely be renting from them as often as time allows!

I planned a trip to jtree national park to do some camping. After the first night of a four night camp, i realized how awesome the sky is at night there and how much i wish i had brought my hobby telescope with me from home. A friend that knew the area said there was a new telescope rental place open. Perfect! Great service, scopes, and, reasonable prices! Thank you Coyote Telescope! This really made the trip to the beautiful desert all the better!

Coyote Telescope Rental is a new business near Joshua Tree National Park. So new, that we were one of their first customers as they were beginning their launch! Joshua Tree is known for it's incredibly clear and dark night skies, and my bleak Midwest winter had taken away all chances of enjoying the stars. When planning our recent trip to Joshua Tree, I inquired with our innkeeper about telescope rentals, to no avail. But, lo and behold, an internet search found Coyote Telepscope, not even officially open for business yet. So, I sent them an email to find out if I could rent a scope and they obliged!

Coyote has a few telescopes for rental, including a digital super telescope and a powerful manual telescope. Additionally, they have GoPro cameras and wildlife spotting scopes, as well as enhancement add-ons for the telescopes. We were fortunate enough to rent both the Orion Starblast manual and the Celestron Nextstar digital telescopes, as we wanted to experience super deep sky power as well as teach our kids the manual way to align a telescope. Both telescopes provided a great night sky show. As Coyote puts the finishing touches on their business launch, the digital telescope will be a thrill for anyone wanting to look deep into the night sky, but you will need some level of star knowledge and mechanical sense or ability to follow instructions to get it set up properly. No worries, the great staff will help you out!! The manual scope is perfect for those seeking a simple setup, but don't let me mislead you .... The Orion manual scope is not your backyard tripod scope with blurry scenes .... It's a heavy duty sturdy scope with excellent optics!

The best part of our experience? The incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff!! They love the cosmos and their enthusiasm shows. They want you (and your kids ) to really enjoy your night and the wonders the sky holds. I am confident that as the business gets rolling, any minor kinks will be worked out and can only improve. These folks really want this great idea to be successful, and I am sure it will be. We had a fantastic experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Joshua Tree area!
