First of all, thanks to Margie for being so cool about the way she handled the mix-up in our reservation: I booked for two nights in June when I thought I had booked for two nights in July and, on the day she thought we should already have arrived, she called me and agreed to change our reservation without penalty.

We were one of only two couples at the hide-a-way, so our visit was quiet and relaxing. We had a room with a private patio (complete with dinner table and chairs), but there’s also a nice picnic area with a gas barbeque (unfortunately, no propane left and even the extra tank was empty when we were there) and a small wood barbeque (that we were able to use). The grounds are beautiful, with cacti and other plants all around.

The rooms are colorfully decorated with a good selection of DVDs and CDs and I really appreciated the reading lamps over the bed.

On the down side, there was no maid service, and I wonder if this might not have been because Spin and Margie were away, with someone else looking after the property for them. It wasn’t a big deal since we only stayed two nights, although it would have been nice to have clean towels and have someone remove the waste.

This is a great location if you want to drive to Joshua Tree Park, and it’s also close to the small village of Joshua Tree where you can get food and drinks.

We stayed for one night, passing through on our way top Pal Springs after driving through the Mojave desert. Although Joshua Tree town is nothing much, Spin & Margies is indeed a little gem. We were the only guests, as it was very low season, so we had the place to ourselves. The studio (Unit 2) was compact, but very clean and well equipped. The desert garden is beautiful, and the whole place definitely has its own style! Not like anywhere else I've stayed, but definitely recommended, especially if you're hiking in Joshua Tree National Park, which is very close by.

We had travelled to Joshua Tree from Las Vegas, via Palm Springs. Spin & Margie's makes a great base to visit Joshua Tree National Park and is a wonderful hideaway.

Spin & Margie have created 5 wonderful cabins which are simply, but colourfully decorated, with great photographs that adorn the wall (taken by Spin)

The first night we were entirely on our own, which for townies was a real experience. The garden area is very colourful and the smell of the jazmine first thing in the morning and last thing at night is great.

I really loved the solitude and wished we had found the tin bath in the 'back yard' earlier.

If you want peace, quiet and to get away from it all, go here - you won't be disappointed.

Imagine our shock to discover that Spin and Margies looks even better in person than it does on the internet! Their web site is great - don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t do justice to the care and the attention to detail of their beautiful and quirky rooms.
We booked Suite #3 and were upgraded to Suite #1 when we arrived because they had had a cancellation. This room is off the charts incredible. Comfortable and very peaceful.
We were just so thrilled - in fact so much so, that we had to force ourselves to leave the room to visit the park everyday.
The entire property feels like an art piece. A crazy quilt of bird houses adorned a pole, large stars and standing sculpture seemed to be everywhere you turned. There were large
rolling balls of barbed wire out in the field above the Inn. How did they do that?
There were also flowers everywhere, plants we had never ever seen before, and clever pots of cactus with crazy ceramic ornaments. I must also say that we came at just the right
time. The Park was ablaze with flowers. Fields of flowers in fact. Just unbelieveable to see so much beauty in this desert.
What I do recommend if you visit is to bring some groceries with you as the restaurants in the area are few and far between. One night we barbequed and sat out under the stars.
There are lounge chairs on the property for star gazing - which is what we did.
I’m glad to have found this wonderful Inn - we are already looking forward to our return visit.

I was recommended to Spin and Margie’s by a friend and just loved the experience! I stayed in Suite # 2 aka Mojave Rambler which was “tricked out” in amazing detail – from the beautiful decor to the supply of the essentials in the kitchen and bathroom. "Spins" amazing photographs were on display in every room. They had even thought to map a wildflower tour for our viewing pleasure. So thoughtful and so perfect in every way. Joshua Tree is a beautiful setting and Spin & Margie’s Desert Hide-a way is the perfect accent on the landscape.

We stayed at Spin and Margie's for the first time during a Thanksgiving trip to Joshua Tree National Park. We LOVED it!!! Great location, unique and beautifully/artfully decorated studio with everthing we needed inside! (We stayed in unit #4 and relaxed in the tub every night after long days of climbing and hiking in Joshua Tree park.) Beautiful grounds and a lovely courtyard. The hostess was also very friendly and responsive to all of our inquiries. The only drawback for us was that we could hear a little bit of street noise late at night when everything else was quite.

This was our second time to Spin and Margies and it just gets better and better. We love the gardens. The outdoor sculpture is really fun. The rooms are just perfect. Everything we needed was
there . Their new Cabin is really nice - stay in #5 if you can it is
just adorable. The owners are really helpful and gave us great advice about where to hike, and see interesting desert things.
You have to go to Pappy and Harriets in Pioneertown for dinner and music , what a great time. We can't wait to get back there.
