Really nice place to sip wine with a beautiful view! This is pricey wine though. Be prepared to pay $45 per bottle or more. They have an awesome dessert wine...loved it! Their other wines were very good too.

Fort Ross Vineyard has excellent tasting wines! In addition to the taste, we enjoyed pampered service by a gentleman by the name of ( I think ) Dave. He treated us with the utmost professionalism and we enjoyed the continued education of what it takes to make fine wines. Lastly, the tasting room and the Vineyard itself had a first class elegant feel to it. Both myself and my husband were very impressed. We became members and are thrilled when we receive our shipments!

My husband and I were staying nearby at the Timber Cove Inn & decided to drive to this winery on a whim. What a wonderful surprise to find such a beautiful place at the top of the hill! We had a lovely tasting on the most perfect afternoon with great wine to boot! Be on the lookout for deer and crossing families of wild boar on your drive. Stop in if you are in the area!

Tried the wines with some friends, and found the vineyard and Tasting Room just off Hwy 1 north of Jenner. I have been a fan but got to try several Pinots and they have a under the radar outstanding Chardonnay. All fruit is grown on top of the coastal ridge. They make a champagne like rose of Pinot Noir (no sparkle) and an unusual velvety Pinotage.Very friendly an aware of the wine and vines of the Fort Ross Seaview AVA. Love, Love, Love.

This is our 3rd trip to Fort Ross Winery. We enjoy their wines and the winery setting is beautiful. Our first 2 visits we were greeted by an enthusiastic and very friendly young server. We have bought wines on every visit. This time while visiting during a very quiet time of the day, we were rushed through our tasting with very little conversation from our server. Tasting cost $15 for four very small pours. We shared a tasting due to the long, windy drive ahead of us. Tasting fee was waved with purchase of 2 bottles but we felt our experience cold, rushed & unfriendly. Our previous visits would have rated solid 5s! Wonderful views from the tasting room and gorgeous deck. Maybe next time our friendly server will be back.

Dear Rustydog0,

Thank you for your recent review. Here at Fort Ross Vineyard, we are a small staff with diverse personalities. One staff member has a plethora of winemaking knowledge and can answer just about any question you may have about wines and winemaking. Another staff member may have a bubbly personality and can spark a conversation not only about wine but about the area, life or philosophy in general. Each one of our staff is different but we do try our best to be caring and considerate to everyone who takes the time to visit our tasting room and taste our “coastal cool” wines.

Our location is an ideal place to take your time. We were sorry to hear you felt rushed during your tasting. When the weather is good and warm many of our guests sit for hours on our deck under the umbrellas and enjoy a tasting flight of our wines while snacking on a charcuterie and cheese plate. With our ocean views, it is the ideal spot take in the beauty of the rugged Sonoma Coast. We hope that you will return soon and relax in the tasting room or on the deck and take your time to taste some of our latest releases and take in the lovely views. If you like you can always use our picnic tables under the trees to relax and enjoy your tasting and time with us.

We invite you to please come back whenever you are in the area. Please ask for me, or the owners if they are here at the tasting room, as we would very much like to meet you and hear how we can improve the tasting experience for all our guests. You were very gracious in mentioning that you enjoyed your many previous visits to the property and we hope your next visit will again remind you of why visiting the Fort Ross Vineyard family can be an interesting and enjoyable experience.

Warm regards,
Jennifer Smith
Tasting Room Manager
