We stopped in before our flight (Gulliver's is right across the boulevard from John Wayne Airport) to have a meal. Gulliver's has been in this location for 30+ years, and Prime Rib is the specialty. But we went to the bar area, and the bartender recommended the Pick 3 Happy Hour special. Pick any three apps on the app menu for a set price (much better than individual pricing). We added a Cesar salad, and had way more food than the three of us could eat. The prime rib bones are meaty and tender, the quesadilla is huge and very tasty, and the meatballs were good. The total food price was $34, for three! Not bad for the airport area, and the decor is kind of inviting, especially if you are into Old English pubs!

I recently celebrated my ?? birthday with a group of friends. We were all very pleased with the food & service. They were attentive but not intrusive. Brought trifle for the birthday girl with an extra one to 'share'. Nice extra. We have previously had dinner at Gulliver's, but this was the first time for lunch. Will certainly return.

You just wouldn't think that a restaurant across the street from an airport could be this good! But what a delightful surprise! Escargot wrapped in yummy little mini biscuit tops and perfectly garlic-y. Tournedos cooked exactly as ordered. Twice baked potatoes as good as any I have ever had. And the bartender, who was extremely busy, remained attentive and cordial. I would definitely recommend this place, even if you aren't headed to the airport!

Dim, dark and unusual decor make this a refreshing change from the identikit "brushed clean" Californian style restaurants that abound in this region. It has an English Tavern feel to it, with waitresses in wench costumes and spooky ghosts roaming the passageways, although that may have just a special for Halloween.

Service was fast and attentive, we were quickly seated at what was, according to the owner, "John Waynes' favourite table". The owner took us through the eclectic menu choices and made some recommendations, and was pretty insistent that everything could be fixed just as we wanted it. So we fixed up the catch of the day, and some ribs, and they were very decently prepared, no complaints whatsoever.

If you are looking for a characterful restaurant, something a little different from the norm, and don't mind paying a few $$$ over the odds for very reasonable food, then give Gullivers a try.

I'm amazed about all of the reviews stating that it's the best prime rib they've ever had. I think it was good, but not great. What was excellent was the creamed corn and the cheese bread. The place is a bit pricey, but the portions are quite large. The wine prices are reasonable, the service was fine, but I have no desire to eat there regularly.

Years ago Gulliver's was famous for their serving Wenches who wore cleavage revealing tops. No more. They are now more modestly attired, and most of the wait staff is male. The men are dressed in Gulliver-like puffy shirts. Political correctness has run amok.
