“Disappointing”

This is an oasis of nature in a big city but there really wasn't much wildlife to be seen. There is some major construction going on nearby and the noise overwhelms what should be a pleasant walk.

What a surprise. I first came here with my plein air class to watch our instructor paint. I returned on Saturday morning to paint myself. It is a bird sanctuary with well maintained trails along a cooling body of water. I spent four hours in paradise. It was so quiet and peaceful. The greenery and the abundance of birds were a delight. It was amazing how few visitors they had. I will definitely return for another painting. If you want peace and solitude - this is the place -- and sooo convenient.

I am always looking for new places close to go on nature walks and enjoy the wildlife. Take a water bottle and explore the several easy to follow marked paths. There are birds nesting in trees and as the season change, the tress and greenery change as will. If you like to bird watch take your binoculars and a local bird guide and you will not be disappointed.

Prime bird habitat in the middle of the Orange County sprawl. Lots of nice walking trails but leave the DOG AT HOME. The area is patrolled.

We took about one hour to walk around the ponds. Saw a hummingbird's nest, an eagle eating a fish and enjoyed the plant life.
