Unlike others we had attentive service. Dined on a Sat night evening so no dim sum. Ordered scallops and serving size definitely could be shared. Filet too. Both were good. Well seasoned and came with rice. Advise to come with a crowd and try more as for 2 it was hard to get enough variety to make interesting. There was definitely lots of Chinese eating in big groups so as others noted what and ow served must be up to snuff. I found the atmosphere not too conducive to be special or romantic. Very loud, a little frantic. More family dining. For date night would rate average.

Dim sum sounded great. Traveling alone and saw the Capital Dim Sum next to Nordstrom. 5 pm Saturday, slow but couldn't get a waiter. Finally ordered, asked for hot and sour soup first then dim sum app platter. Got platter about 2 minutes later. Asked for soup, got it about 5 minutes later. Soup was fairly bland but ok. Each of the six items on the dim sum platter had same texture--mush. Beautiful spring rolls, crisp outside but tasted like vegetable paste on inside. Dumplings where mushy. Shrimp tasted like minced shrimp nuggets. I posted a photo of one of the items. Not sure what its called but was gross--pork inside raw. Service didn't get any better. Just asked if someone could bring me my check. Absolutely will never be back.

Capital Seafood at the Diamond Jamboree is about as good as dim sum gets in Orange County. It might not be as good as some of the outposts in the San Gabriel Valley, but it is still pretty darn good and could hold its own in Hong Kong.

They have everything you expect in a top dim sum restaurant and the carts come around quickly at lunch time. I really liked the Dou fu fa, the sauce was a sweet ginger. It is nice to feel you are eating a healthy desert :)

Had dinner with another couple here. had seen the place before but felt it was to showy to be any good. More like a tourist trap. We had a number of seafood courses and they all were great. Prices were not out of line and the service was first class.

My wife, kids and I had a wonderful dinner at Capital Seafood in Irvine for our 30th wedding anniversary.
This establishment has a wonderful ambiance to go with the great dishes that they prepare. Our dinner included many of their specialties, like the Maine Lobster, Filet Mignon Cubes with Black Pepper Sauce, Hong Kong Style Chow Mein, Yong Chow Fried Rice and Emperors Garden vegetable dish along with the Roast Duck. Everything was perfect and everyone enjoyed the entire meal. Our server, Michael, was terrific. He continued to bring fresh plates and towels while we worked on the Maine Lobster. Michael really went out of his way to make sure that our special occasion was a memorable experience.
They also have a great happy hour in the bar with $3 beers and other specials.
We also learned that they serve a great Dim Sum for lunch so I can’t wait to go back and try that out.
